Very positive. It is quite the gem of a public school with a broad population. It's in view of the ocean and beach with a strong marine/biology perspective.

St. Simons Elementary School is simply the best! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The teachers work extremely hard to ensure the successes of all students. The schools location across the street from the beach allows students to learn about the coastal ecology and there is an excellent Ocean Lab program in place that serves students with hands on learning opportunitites. It is unique and special for all of the students and families. I have had two children attend SSE and have had nothing but positive experiences. Our family loves being part of the Super Dolphin family!

I put that I am an "other" at this school because I am a former student of SSE, an employee, and a parent here. I cannot rave loud enough or more for the fabulous staff and students at SSE. It truly is a family atmosphere -- I am shocked at the review of another parent, makes me think things just didn't go her way! I have a special needs student who has graduated on to Glynn Middle, and the teachers here were absolutely incredible with him -- and not just because I work here -- but because it's their job and they do it well and bottom line -- they CARE. SSE is the most caring, hard-working school I have ever been a part of. Not only have we been a School Of Excellence 4 times, but we also won the Family Friendly Award from the state. Test scores are high and teachers work hard to individualize learning for your child. The kids that are here are happy to be here and they work hard for their teachers because they want to. There are no if's, and's, or what's about it -- St. Simons Elementary is a GREAT school.

St. Simons Elementary School is a WONDERFUL school for our children. We would not send them anywhere else. The sense of community is outstanding, and our children have fun while learning. The school has a small, neighborhood feeling, and the diverse population is wonderful for our children. Academically the teachers and support staff work hard to make sure our children get the support that they need and that they are challenged. The Ocean Lab is also amazing! The school has received numerous honors and awards, and we are proud to send our children to such a wonderful school!

Our experience at SSE for the last 2 years has been simply outstanding. The school's teachers are first rate, caring, knowledgeable and dedicated to every student. The parental involvement opportunities are plentiful and helpful for us to keep in touch with our child's school experience, both academically and socially. I am not sure what has caused anyone to rate this school negatively but I am certain that there must be a great deal more to the story. The extracurricul and other opportunities available each week such as music, art, Ocean Lab (where students often walk across the street to the Atlantic Ocean to conduct classes!) athletics etc. have exceeded all of our expectations and the various events such as Dolphins Do Art, Dolphin Day, Trackapalooza, Jump Rope for Heart and the countless school assemblies and parental involvement opportunities offered many times after school as well, point to a community school that is a beautiful jewel in the Saint Simons Island crown. I would HIGHLY recommend this school for a multitude of reasons, the best of which is the outstanding staff and safe, loving learning environment. I could not ask for more for our child.

This is one of the most amazing schools! The small, warm feeling of the cozy building is fostered by the friendliness of the staff and admin. The Ocean Lab is also amazing. Students are able to walk over to the beach and explore their habitat at least one time a month.

St. Simons Elementary School is a fabulous school in all ways! Our children couldn't be happier, and we love the family atmosphere of the school. The teachers are friendly and dedicated, and our children are both challenged and supported in their individual learning needs. We love SSE and the neighborhood atmosphere of the school.

My husband and I feel so blessed to have our two kids attending this amazing school. The staff and teachers treat you like you are part of their family the minute you walk through the doors. We love it!

I have a student in Kindergarten. As soon as you walk on campus, you feel "at home". Teachers and staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm. They hold high expectations for the students, and the students know what is expected from them.

Hands down, this school is top notch. It is a diverse, energetic, loving and nurturing environment - and it's right across the beach. I've had two children go through that school and have been so happy with it. They foster an environment of open and honest communication. I feel like SSE is an important part of our family and is an extension of the village that helps raise my child.

Over the past six years, my three children have attended Saint Simons Elementary. The teachers and staff can best be described as dedicated, friendly, and truly concerned about children's well being. The school is truly a family where the teachers know and interact with children in all grades. The teacher turnover is quite low. We have a very unique offering for our students which is our OceanLab. We have a very unique offering for our students - our Ocean Lab. Since we are situated a block from the beach, the children have the opportunity to learn hands-on about the ocean and it's inhabitants. The kids absolutely love it! The administration is very responsive to parents' concerns and input. I am very satisfied with my children's experiences at Saint Simons Elementary!

This school is outdated along with the teachers and their lack of support for special needs student. My daughter went to this school for 3 months and I had to withdraw her due to bullying by other students and discrimination between groups and social standing. The teachers do not provide learning support and seem un-interested in teaching as they are all very secure in their jobs. I do not recommend this school to anyone.

My twins who are 9, are just finishing their 2011/12 year at St Simons and I can honestly say that as parents, we feel very blessed that our kids had an opportunity to be students at this great school. Because this is a small older school in a tiny island community we had misconceptions concerning the quality of education and services that our kids would receive. Some of the many things that made our boys' school year memorable:-many science classes take place on the tide contingent beach across the street-after school chess club-after school violin-Arts Day where many local artists come and involve the kids, includes live performers, lunch in the schoolyard while live blues play-Trackapaloosa, a PTA sponsored event in it's second year, the first year raised money for a track and this year the money raised is going towards science music and arts, local bands played while school families gathered together. Caring staff from the bus drivers to the school's caretaker.The Administration who are always upfront and visible, available to listen to concerns.An incredible group of parents who are involved in their children's school/education. Couldn't have asked for better teachers. A+++

This school has won the Georgia School of Excellence 4 times! This is the only school in Glynn County that can claim that accomplishment. The teachers and students here continue to shine year after year. Students have the opportunity to experience learning in a Marine Science Lab on a weekly basis. The location which is across the street from the Atlantic Ocean makes this school truly unique! Staff, students & families maintain a wonderful sense of community with a very positive school culture! Love this school!
