This school is not the same as is used to be. It was once an incredible place and I, myself used to be a Wildcat and was so proud my child was going to attend this school as well. Up until this past year. The leadership is extremely disappointing, if you plan on requesting any help/guidance/support, you WILL be put off or lied too and your child WILL be disregarded because it just isn't being probably handled as it should. It's a shame, a lot of amazing, long time teachers have left for the exact reasons. Poor leadership. Please do something for the kids of the future and get a more suitable person for the position of being in charge of OUR kids.A concerned parent.

My son will be going into 1st grade there and attended kindergarten there. So far, we love Westgate. The teachers are amazing, the campus is nice, and I've never had any troubles there except that my son did not like the YMCA so we pulled him out and found better accommodations. In my opinion, the communication is wonderful and I do believe that depends partly on the parents. If you are a parent that doesn't check your email all the time or communicate regularly with your child's teacher, then of course you wouldn't think the communication was good. Just my opinion. I get updates from the school daily or at least a few times a week with resources and announcements. Plus we get monthly newsletters emailed and sent home. My son actually likes going to school. It also is not as overwhelmed as some other local elementary schools. The class sizes here are more conducive and appropriate. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this school.

I am the mother of 2 daughters, the grandmother of a granddaughter and the great grandmother of 2 great grandchildren who have been a part of the Westgate family. I and my family have always been happy with the school and the staff. The only complaint any of my " children " have had is too much homework. I am very thankful for all of the staff who have worked with my " kids " since the 1970's.

my child has been going to the school since kindergarden and she is now in the fourth grade and let me tell you this school has changed in the past few years that she has been there she has been bullied twice in two weeks and nothing is being done about it she was had a black and blue live she had a skateboard hit across her back and so the school is just saying that it's an accident I go up there and should try to even meet the mother and try to figure this out and and all I get told is that there's nothing that we can do about it so its not a great school please do not move around this area just for this reason.

I have always thought really high of the school until about a year ago. The communication from teachers to parents is very poor. I feel like the school has gone down hill. I have had my children at the school since 2009. I have had so much stress this year and I feel like the school failed my first grader by not assisting him like they should have. Westgate has always been a really good school. I think the new leadership needs to be replaced! Teachers need to understand the importance of communication. I can't help my child if I am not informed. I feel inmature like behavior in the school from staff. I feel like my opintion is not valued! There are excellent teachers at the school but it feels like only selected kids get those teachers.
