This school is not a #8! The actions & events that I have witnessed at St. Johns high school involving pincipals, teachers, & some local authorities can be summed up as 'Unless you home school your children... Run far, run fast & don't look back!'Look at the 'Rating of PARENTS' listed on greatschools website, & not the highlighted rating next to the school name.

My experience was good until about 2015, now getting worse every year. If my daughter wasn't almost done (10th) I'd move her to Pewamo/Westphalia or Dewitt schools. St. Johns closes school excessively, especially on Fridays and Mondays. They extend school into summer vacation and force parents to send their kids because they schedule finals the last week of school.

I graduated from SJHS last year and I thought it was amazing! They have so many options in every subject that it feels like you are at a bigger school but it still has the community feel to it where you can get really close to your teaches and students. I did. Not have one bad experience with any of my teachers and they are all very willing to help when you are having trouble. My favorite program was LINKS which I helped with and we transitioned students with an autism spectrum disorder or learning disorder into the general education program and acted as a helper when they needed assistance. This program honestly changed my life and I made some lifelong friends. Talking to other students from other schools in the area, our facilities are way nicer and we have a lot more food options. Overall I had a great experience at St. Johns High School!
