We love Tahoe Elementary! My child is in his second year here. His teachers have been helpful, accessible, and engaged. The principal is dedicated, enthusiastic, and really committed to making Tahoe a great place for the whole student body. We really appreciate how having our child at a diverse, inclusive neighborhood school has helped us develop new bonds in our community. PTA is active, well organized, and involved. Any problems we’ve encountered stem from the school district rather than the teachers and administration at the school.

This school is very disorganized and seems to be run by the office personnel, who are incredibly rude and dismissive. They lock parents out of the office in the morning, while they stand around chatting. They will let you stand there and ignore you unless you assert yourself and then they don't really give you answers. The principal doesn't seem to do much at all and the teachers come and go at this school. We pulled our daughter out of this school. The curriculum was really low level. I saw several violent students at the end of the day. My daughter never felt safe there.

I really like this school. It is a neighborhood school for us and love that we can walk. The teachers are great and the principle is very "hands on." She even offers a class for parenting grade school children. Our son is doing very well and we look forward to many years here. Our teach is in constant contact with us about our son's progress. The field trips have been educational and fun. The only thing I wish was different is the lack of parent participation, but hopefully that will turn around.
