Horrible school. My 5 year old child was hit and spit on. They decided my child should be separated because they need to provide services to the other child who is special needs. I was again contacted about the situation after going to the district and told that this is just a summer school and after school program issue. I was told he maybe okay during the 3 hours of kindergarten but not any of the other programs.Long story short public school is not for learning. It's for hitting, spitting and raising bullies!

My child loves his teacher. She works really hard each day to help him.

A nice little school. The kids are safe, and overall respectful. My kids are very happy.

My child did not start of elementary school where he needed to. He came to Ethel Phillips, and left ready for middle school.

We consider this school year a waste of time and resources. Our experience with this school was terrible. Do not send your child if you can. We had no choice per the IEP.

My daughter has been going to this school from kindergarten and is now in 3rd grade. This is a horrible school. She has had 2 good teachers but it seems this school gets inexperienced teachers that the rest of the schools in the district don't want. My daughter had multiple substitutes for the first 2 months of school. The parents are not involved and the students are not well behaved. There is no structure and the rowdy students do not listen to their teachers or staff. I am at the school office at least 2-3 times a week discussing peer issues that are not handled properly. The kids cannot keep their hands to themselves and there are several thieves. The children have no respect for their peers or their teachers. Test scores are bad and every student is below grade level so the school dose not get proper funding. This school needs serious help. Would not recommend this school to anyone.

All my three children have been attending Ethel Phillips since Kindergarten. They have received an excellent education so far. One is in middle school and got straight A's, the 4th grader is in honor roll and my second grader has been identified as a GATE student and I chose to leave her at Ethel Phillips. Their success as students is due to the knowledge and dedication the teachers have at Ethel Phillips. Would highly recommend this school.

My daughter is in special education and I honestly feel if your going to work with challenged children then you need to have the skills neccessary. I have found her teacher to be very short with her, and totally unexperienced, rude and running on her personal feelings, rather than what is best for my child. The only thing good I can say about this school is that, the principal is very caring and helpful. I feel if he really knew what his staff was up to that he would have them all fired. Some may be asking,"so why do you allow your child to continue to go there", my answer is this, when dealing with special education,IEP programs and so on. It isn't so easy to just have your child removed, I have tried. Regardless..Ethel Phillips Elementary definately needs to do some cleaning up to get a decent review from this parent.
