I ABSOLUTELY LOVE AEP & faculty. This is my daughter's first year here & she LOVES it! I LOVE the fact that every faculty member knows her by name. When she gets out in the morning she's greeted by name. As a Kindergarten I was worried about just letting her go & now I couldn't picture here being anywhere else. Dr. Hood the principal is ALWAYS accessible & I see her in classes interacting with students. She doesn't just sit behind a desk all day. No school is perfect but AEP is perfect for my daughter. I also love the fact that the older students look out for the younger ones. I haven't any problems with bullying or anything. To piggyback off previous post AEP gets a lot of apps a year & they simply can't accommodate everyone. It's nothing personal because I'm sure if they could take everyone they would. I look forward to the next 7 years with my AEP family.

I agree with a previous poster. This school gives no explanation on to why a child wasn't admitted. It's basically a "who you know" selection process. They do throw in a couple of different minorities to make it seem as if they are fair which is typical of small town Ruston.

This school is one of the best school in LA. I am lucky that my child got a chance to go there.

Good education, but, runs on elite-class concept. While the objective of diversity is to accomodate minorities, the school uses it as a tool to turn down minorities on the basis of the race ratio in the community. Pretty funny. Nobody knows how a student is admitted, no tranparency. The principal is pretty mean when asked why a student is admitted or denied an admission. Total monarchy. And taxpayers pay for this school. I'm afraid some of the students may develop the same narrowness they witness in the surroundings.
