My son just completed his first year at Maidu and we are so impressed by the staff here. He is excited about learning, asks great questions and has built a tremendous amount of background knowledge in just a short amount of time. His teachers have decades of experience and are masters of their craft. The principal is omnipresent, approachable, and takes on the added duty as a morning crossing guard in front of the school to keep kids safe. The Spanish language and STEAM classes along with the weekly onsite library visits enrich our child’s education. Maidu serves a diverse student population and I am so happy our son attends school here!

Our son attended Maidu Elementary from kindergarten through third grade. We initially chose Maidu based on exemplary scholastic rating, class size and multicultural demographic. The faculty and administrators were very invested in the success of their students by creating unique and creative learning opportunities. His teachers were able to identify where our son struggled and provided customized interventions to help him achieve his goals in schools. Its the people who make Maidu special. From the students and parents to the teachers and support staff, Maidu was like a second home to us.

We transferred our daughter here in 3rd grade and WISH we would have done it sooner! The experience was so great, we made sure to start our son here beginning in kindergarten. The teachers and staff are excellent...kind, compassionate and always looking out for their student's best interest. Our kids absolutely blossomed at this school and we can't recommend it enough!

When we moved to the area and asked about the schools, we were told about the Eureka school district. When we researched the schools within the district it seemed certain schools were rated higher in regards to testing scores. In delving deeper it seemed there were inherent drawbacks to this- socially and emotionally. We chose Maidu for its diverse and caring learning environment with a global perspective that other schools didn't possess. In regards to testing, my child ended up scoring in the highest percentile in the CAASP testing 3rd grade and he has thrived socially and emotionally. This is all thanks to the caring teachers and specialized learning.

Maidu provides an incredibly enriching academic environment. The teachers and staff support students very well. There's many enriching opportunities for students. Parents are always welcomed and can volunteer in many ways which creates a community that is very connected.

Maidu is an excellent school! I have worked in many schools - private, public, Montessori - and Maidu is by far my favorite. The academics, social, ethical, and extracurricular education is exceptional. We moved specifically to be zoned for this school. The teachers, principal and staff are amazing. We love this schoool!

We love everything about Maidu. It's such a caring environment and my kids have learned a lot. The teachers, office and principal are all great. Communication is wonderful. I always feel like I know what my kids are learning, and everyone is very approachable. The school is good with learners of all levels. My kids will be sad to move on to Excelsior next year. We have really enjoyed Maidu. Oh, also the school works well with learners of all abilities. My sons needed some extra help with reading and their reading teacher has been great.

My son has enjoyed everything about Maidu. This is a school that loves the children and treats staff and parents with respect. Stephanie Groat, principal, is involved, attentive and passionate about learning and having fun. Truly a wonderful foundation in a child's educational experience.

Exceptional school, led by Mrs. Stephanie Groat and a team of teachers and staff who go the extra mile. We are so grateful for our time at Maidu. In every way, it was a good experience, especially given the trying financial situation in California schools.
