PROS: *close by *clean*enclosed/gatedCONS:*office staff terrible, holding students back to be late as much as 4 min before the bell, rude manner of speaking to parents*sending students unsupervised to a room in the middle of multiple classes to "catch up" or "fix manners" (not happy about the unsupervised part)*lots of copying of what the teacher wants to be written, not having them learn what to do and understand subjects*work came home at the end of the year w/ barely any completed pages for workbooks, half-done sentences & pages crossed out*ART is out. They requested 2 volunteers to be Art Docents once a month. I gladly raised my hand since this was something I loved at our other school, teaching art to the students k-8. The other mom and I met up a few times before our first lesson and thought how limited we are to only do art 1x/mo. Asked for 1x/wk and was told that they can't. FREE ART=GOOD! The teacher had no reason and we had to leave it alone. Made a request to the principal and no response there either.I would like to express I was previously a teacher at a private school that my son went to. When he joined Fiddyment Farm and they tested him at the beginning of the year for 2nd grade, he had a reading challenge of 11th and 12th-grade books (previous school was huge on writing and reading programs from Level K-Level 8 so I was not surprised since I saw what books he would pick out on his own and the books from during the school year) and tested Math at 4th grade. When he was leaving the school at the end of 4th grade, his challenge for reading was now at 5th-grade level and math was at 3rd-grade level. This was incredibly upsetting and shocking as we have never known of a child to be so far above his grade but then regressed just after two years here. The school when we signed him up had a 9.5/10 rating and we felt that this definitely was based on parents seeing that it was just a very beautiful school and not on the academics at all. During conferences, his teachers never shared he was having a hard time and in the 4th grade, only that teacher told me he was too advanced for the school and needs to be tested for GATE. This was a week before we were leaving back to his private school in the Bay Area so it wasn't needed. I did however ask her why was I just now being told about GATE after two years and was told that we didn't have a conference yet. -at the end of the year is when we had our first conference for 4th grade.good luck!

I expected more because of reviews but was sorely disappointed. Zero communication from teacher once my child started. I had no clue of the curriculum structure until i called myself to ask. I get weekly covid emails and almost no curriculum emails. Its like theyre more concerned about covid than teaching. This school gives no homework and the teacher is not communicating effectively regarding anything. There is really this silent void, she seems to be a bad apple. Covid does not harm healthy kids, there is no reason to place such stupid mask restrictions on little kids. The front office people are absolutely horrendous when it comes to people skills, they are incredibly rude. My child hates the school because of the mask restrictions and overall negativity related to the stupid illogical restrictions. We will be home schooling.

We have been very impressed by the teachers at this school. We have been very happy with the education our children received and the community feeling at Fiddyment Farm.

Teachers are great experienced educators and deserve a 10 Star Review. The Front Office staff is Terribly Poor and lack the communications skills to work with children or even in public. Principle almost never interacting with students.

From the moment I met with the principal last Spring before we moved here until now we have loved being part of this school. This was the first year my son came home from school on the 1st day and told his father and I that he loved his new school. All this from a child who has a hard time making friends.
