South Delta is a good school. We moved from the Houston suburbs to Rolling Fork last year to care for my wife's elderly parents. Coming from an area with many educational options to a rural area with just one public and one private was a huge adjustment for us. We could afford the private tuition, but there was no way I could send my son to a school founded as a "segregation academy" to thwart public school desegregation, even if their policies are now non-discriminatory, so that left South Delta as our only option. We have been pleased so far. His teachers have been great and attentive to his needs. Public schools in the Delta are often portrayed negatively and while some places do have major problems, others like South Delta continue to make progress despite the issues many students face daily.
