I want to extend my thanks to the school and staff for providing such a positive experience for my daughter. Unfortunately, she'll be transferring in a couple of months due to our new home purchase. I felt compelled to share that she’s told me there’s no fighting at school and she’s excelling, especially in math. This school has truly been a gem.

If u don't like the school or how it is run transfer. If u don't like certain teachers easy ask the principal to put your child in the other class for those who have two classes in a grade level. Everyone can bring ppl down esp during a consolidation or whatever. But y just bring out all the bad when u look at the picture its so much more to be greatful in the schools. Yup RH might have a person their or two or whatever we all don't care for but that does not ruin a entire staff of dedicated ppl. I don't care for a couple ppl but I would not want my child in any of the other schools in the county other then private. I personally know the time most of these teachers put at that school and personal money n that should be more important than things that r everywhere else. It's only brought out to change subject on the real issue. I don't agree with everything that goes on and you can't please everyone. But it is much more there good then bad. Like any other place. Far as we know ppl posting could b from other schools. Brenda has a open door u have a problem she is there to great everyone almost every day. Don't ruin a entire schools rep over a few ppl and things. Like really ppl. Smh. Don't believe everything you read.

RHES is an invaluable institution with a long standing record of success. The state of affairs are strong. The Rock Hall community contributes generously, often in ways are overlooked. Compassionate volunteerism, unlimited resources and prudent financial support are not to be taken for granted, rather embraced. A dark cloud impacts the required building blocks for even the most sound foundation. Opinion creating a bleak facade, designed for personal gain, or retribution only accelerates a county-wide issue (declining student enrollment) confronting a delicate public school system. The schools administration, faculty and support staff, past or present, have always maintained a 'welcome mat' representing; graceful, uncluttered, and bright metaphors mirroring the school setting and its people. Take the high road and reflect on the irreprable damage inflicted on a fine institution and community. Loco is not our style nor character. If an impass is realized, contemplate actions to date, and also consider a transfer.

The most recent posts is those who have had their feelings hurt by public opinion. There is much more to the school then people want you to think. Ask around and not those who are glorified. There are many children who are at risk. Yes, there are many caring people at the school. There is also things that should not go on. It would not be accepted in other places. It's who you know.

Rock Hall is a great school. It's so refreshing to walk in and feel the unity in the school. It appears the leader in the school loves her job. It's clear this has trickled down to the staff....including the substitutes, custodians, and the lunch ladies. The students are happy and are learning. I was informed that students are rewarded on a regular basis for doing the right thing. It appears people are making comments that refer to RHES, from years past. If someone has an issue with the school, why don't you go to the school to solve the issue, rather then voicing it on here and FB? It makes me wonder do you really want to solve a problem or is it easier just to complain about?

This school is an extension of my family. Everyone is here for the good of the children. It is with great regret that I read some of these reviews--because they are most certainly from a very small-minded minority.

After reading all of the reviews on this website, I do not agree with any of them. Rock Hall is a great school with very friendly staff. Every single staff member from the lunch ladies to the specials teachers, to the secretary, to all of the teachers are wonderful. Anyone is willing help your child no matter if they are the teacher or not. Every classroom offers engaging activities and if you ask the students they love their teacher. My child is very excited to go to school and I believe that is more then enough.

I received a letter stating my child's teacher was being transferred to another school and they were combining the 3rd grade classes. We are a month into school and had no warning or anything. We are loosing a great teacher with years of experience. She has been at Rock Hall Elementry for several years and like other long time Rock Hall staff she is being transferred out before other teachers who were either just brought in or newly hired from last year. Why take all of these experienced teachers away? Rock Hall is really changing and unfortunately not for the best of the students.

All they care about at RHES is test scores. They do not take the time to teach students the basics anymore. It's all about what's on the tests. Many of the classes have to many kids. There is not enough one on one time with students. Some of the classes had 25 or more kids.Many of the teachers are glued to their cell phones. At any given time walking by a classroom you will see them playing on their phones. I have seen where the guidance teacher is in Facebook during working hours.This school needs to be overhauled. Some serious training should be held for the teachers. Something needs to be done to save the students.

There is not enough communication between parents and faculty. If there is a major problem you may hear from the teacher otherwise you only hear what your child tells you. The homework is absurd. There is no one to assist if your child needs help. The projects are constant and can add up very quickly. There are to many substitutes in place of teachers. Private school or Worton is the only way to go in Kent.

I am fed up with RHES. There is lack of handling children with problematic behaviors and bullying. My child comes home over and over talking about the same children in his class that has caused problems. I have gone to the teacher, guidance, and the principal. No action has been taken with either student. These two girls are bullies. Hey get "talks" and nothing more. I have asked for my sons seat to be moved and again no action. My child is always told to ignore them, I do not want to hear it or stop tattling. Unacceptable. My child is not the only one effected by these students. Several other classmates and prints have made complaints and everyone acts as if it's not a problem or they say it will be addressed. I have personally watched one of the girls cause trouble in the classroom and was rewarded at the end of the day and allowed to be a teacher helper. Again unacceptable.I would also like to express my concern with teachers posting pictures with their students. One of the new teachers has posted pictures and sent pictures through snap chat of children in her class. The one photo on Facebook the teacher commented on the student showing favoritism. This student also is a problematic girl who is always getting away with her behavior problems. Posting this and the favoritism effects other children and I do not feel that is appropriate selecting certain children. Social media is not something teachers should comment on when it has to do with their students. Snap chat should not be allowed to be used in the classroom. One of the volunteers and substitute also uses snap chat and sends pictures of students to her friends. To me that should be a violation. Unacceptable. Why are teachers allowed to play in their cell phones during school time? RHES needs to start enforcing the counties rules. The BOE really needs to look into the conduct of how discipline is handled and the conduct of the teachers and more. There are many children at risk for these behaviors and lack of consequences.

I am very upset with certain things being done at RHES. My child has learn some innapropriate things from staff. I have written twice on here what it was and it was deleted. This school has really changed in the last 8-9 years. I have had multiple kids attend. I agree with other reviews and the things going on in the school. I wish I could afford private school or drive my kids to Worton or Chestertown. Changes need to be made before more people pull their kids. the substitutes this school now employees is absurd. The one women talks to the kids like they are high schoolers. I heard a student tell their mother she was cursing at them. What is goin on here? The Mayors wife acts like she runs the school and she is a sub on occasion and other days I do not know why she is there. I would also agree with the staff and subs attire. Ripped jeans, jeans extremely tight (my middle school child would be sent home if they were in them) and other clothing teenage girls wear. Only a few teachers dress professional. I cringe at some of the things I see when it is my turn to pic my girls up. Very sad for a school that was one of the most well taught school for many years.

I think some of the staff have the mentality of high school girls. What happened to teaching the kids? Mentoring those who need help? Asking for parental involvement? What happened to guidance working one on one? Don't punish the kids by sending them to work on the computers in another class. What kind of punishment or reinforcement is that? What other school offices has people sitting around throughout the day hanging out? What are they doing? You always see the same ones and what do you hear them talking about? Not school! This school is nothing like Worton or Garnet. You walk in those schools to a happy productive place. There are no little groups of special people everyone is treated equally. Parental involvement is alway welcome and searched upon. You are greated by friendly staff through out the school including in the office! Such a shame and embarrassment to Rock Hall. Get your act together and offer a positive environment to ALL!

Our school has gone downhill over the last few years. The office always filled with certain teachers, staff and a particular volunteer/sub who spend the day talking about staff, students and parents. Enter the office and once you leave you are the topic of discussion. Our staff is not professional. Our new teachers has the same certain volunteer spending many hours during the week distracting her from her students. This vol/sub almost always dresses very innapropriate. Several people have made complaints but nothing ever gets done. Our janitor hides most of the day in his closet. You must walk on eggshells when asking our secretary for anything. Disruptive students either get put on the computer or get to sit in the office with no other discipline enforced. I only wish the time spent gossiping in the office was time spent focusing on our future of America. If I had small children I would send my children elsewhere in the county.

School used to be decent, especially compared to the other choices. Not so much anymore. We are leaving the area due to schools.
