I completely agree with the previous comment. It starts with the principal, Vernicka Murray. There have been multiple occasions when I've arrived at the school with my child only to find it locked, leaving kids unsupervised outside the gate in a high-crime area. Additionally, she does not send home paper notifications, preferring that parents follow her on Twitter instead. She also fails to enforce IEP plans for students. Despite receiving substantial funding, it appears to be used primarily for school events rather than providing necessary tools and supplies for teachers. Homework is often only assigned after complaints are made to teachers and Vernicka. Furthermore, incidents involving students sent to the nurse are not communicated to parents. There are many more concerns I could list, but with the remaining character limit, I strongly urge the Palm Beach County School Board to reconsider the leadership at Washington Elementary.

This school is absolutely horrible & the district needs to go in there and do a COMPLETE RESTRUCTURE of the entire school, starting at the PRINCIPAL and weeding out the lazy unskilled teachers. The ESE Department Team is made up of the GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, EXTREMELY LAZY TEACHER & 1 ESE TEACHER. They passed a student to 4th grade reading on a 2nd grade reading level. This is due to their inability to teach and/or hire skilled teachers. ThePrincipal allows extensive bullying of a Special Education student & brush it off as nothing and she did NOTHING. The guidance counselor was my granddaughter reading teacher. Age would take her to her office and give her candy. Either the principal doesn’t care, assume she’s untouchable or she’s incapable of turning a school around. She should be fired. Those kids at WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY can’t READ, don’t know SCIENCE AND FORGET ANOUT MATH. #PBCSD needs to act and act FAST!

Washington Elementary Magnet School is the same as Washington Elementary school. This would be very confusing. They have two different address and phone numbers and two different websites. The school lost its Magnet and still use the name Magnet. Why is that? The Magnet website is www.palmbeach.k12.fl.us To me it shows they really don't care. My oldest son let me see a utube music video of the area. He won't tell me the name of it because it not good.

Bad school in a horrible neighborhood. I don't understand why they keep this school in such a bad location. I my self am scared to even drive down the streets.
