My son started in January of this year with the early special education headstart program. My son is autistic and is very limited to words. I was told by a staff member about how they talk about my son and his hair. Not to mention he's only 3. How dare administration bully a 3 year old? I thought they were specialized in this head start program for students with special needs. Obviously not, but I will be complaining to some higher officials tomorrow. His hair is not a concern of what you should be worried about at work. My son has not even been there 5 months yet and will not be going back.

Despite how low the ratings are for Laburnum, I love Laburnum. This was my first year working in the school systems and I am so thankful it was at Laburnum. The principal Mrs. Boone gets it done around there and she is always so considerate of her teachers. Glad she is at Laburnum.

We had a great start at Laburnum despite the complaints that i heard about the school. We had a great 2 yrs with teachers that were excellent. The teacher she had in 2nd grade was one of those people that are teaching for a paycheck and not because she has a love for children. She never had control over her class it was a zoo in there. She always seemed to not know anything in regards to complaints the kids would come home with when questioned. One of the ladies in the office is extremely rude, and the principal does not follow through with emails, phone calls or parent concerns. This school needs so re staffing quick and i mean from the lunch ladies to the Principal!!

My child has been at this school for 2 years. I was concerened about my child & her being around new people, I have had some concerns for my child learning devlopment. I have express that with the staff. Everyone from her teachers to principle & even the rest of the office staff have helped me with making sure she is where she needs to be. I feel comfortable with her being there. The team work & understanding that we have with each other I value the most. Thank you.

The teachers are excellent; however, they are dealing with a principal who does not address the underlying reasons for the disrespectful behaviors of the students. Rewards are a temporary fix as they do not change the student's mental health issues. The children would benefit from referrals to outside counselors to be evaluated, diagnosed, and address their behavioral concerns through play therapy , individual and family counseling. The answer is not found in missing out on recess, receiving reward bucks, lectures from administrative staff and countless visits to the office.

My son attends this school through the Trailblazers program. This school definitely has its ups and downs. More downs I would say than ups so I'll have to rate this school with simply 2 stars. The office staff can be extremely rude and unprofessional at times. But the faculty seems to be friendly and some actually do care about their students.

Rating this school a ZERO!!!! Laburnum E.S. has many downfalls than they do positive. Teachers, some, stoop down to the kids level as if they are friends instead being the adult role model. The new principal is not personable to students. She chooses her own favorite student rather than being an overall liking to all!! Their rules and guidelines are less likely to be supported. Their secretaries are rude. Their cafeteria monitors treat the kids as if they are jail students by yelling at them. Many teachers don't get the recognition they deserve. As I stated the principal is not an equal opportunist instead she delegates the work and never stands behind her own students/parents. Why should parents not feel welcome? Why should a principal not ask for higher output and set the standards high for her staff. It may be her first year but she needs to regroup and construct a better team. Less talk about what she is going to do and more action!!
