All students with disabilities are included in all activities and curriculum at the school site. With the importance of inclusion, Students attend regular education classes daily, students have performed in our yearly drama productions, attend band where they play various instruments, art classes are taught every week to each grade level, all students are recognized every Friday during our Friday Dance and Recognition Party, and our students with disabilities are recognized every trimester for academic excellence with the rest of the school population. Henry Elementary VAPA school also includes our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students (teacher Jackie Long) which are assigned to our campus even though they are directly overseen by the County of San Bernardino School District. These students are Henry Hawks and are included in all of the school activities that have been listed. Our school site also has an after school program called Think Together. This program is led by Nicolette Wilson, Site Coordinator. All students are able to join the program.

Henry VAPA School has really improved in the last five years. There is a new principal and assistant principal who has been there for the past 4 years and is really involved with our kids and parents. The school has music, art, choir, and drama. All of the kids go to the VAPA classes. Even my kindergartner goes to music and art. They also have computers for the kids to use at school. I am glad that they now have a PTA for us parents. Of course now with covid our kids are at home doing online school, but the school has still found a way to let our kids go to music and art class. The teachers are very helpful and have answered all of my questions. I don't know who the principal was 7-8 years ago, but our principal now really cares for our kids and us parents.

It's disappointing to see the previous comments about our school. The comments posted are obviously about one incident and do not reflect the overall achievements at this school. I love this school! My kids love this school. This is will be my kids' 3rd year at Henry. They are excelling in different areas and blossoming at this school-academically and artistically. My daughter's reading comprehension has improved and she has learned how to play the violin! The teachers and the staff motivate the students to learn! It is exciting for me as a parent to see my children excited about reading and learning. The teachers are encouraging. They are educators! And I believe this is all possible under the leadership of a supportive Principal! If you want your kids to be inspired and motivated to learn (the foundation of academics and the arts-music, drama, etc), then you should definitely take a peek into what's happening at Henry!

Principal is a b#(%# .. they lose kids on campus for an hour and 55 minutes then they call there parents trying to blame us for them not doing their job right... worst school ever with the worst stuff... never seen a school with no stuff outside making sure your kids are safe.. its a shame .

If you want your children to be safe and get treated fairly DO NOT send your children here they have the worst principal ever she has no respect for the parents children or staff. She has COMPLANTES against her and the board that is in charge of this site sides with her and does not listen to the parents. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.
