I’ve had two daughters going here over the last two years and it’s a perfectly fine jr high school. It’s getting a little overcrowded, if anything, so it can be hard getting the classes you want or working out a good schedule. My girls are smart (academic achievers) and this school has provided advanced classes to keep them challenged and growing. There are great teachers, one or two to avoid, and the kids are mostly good kids. I think the 1/10 must be simply based on a lack of information about the school.

My daughter is a new student this academic year. The staff are friendly, approachable and academically minded. Career planning is a offered elective. The kids are typical 7,8, and 9th graders; truth be told, there is always a jerk, clown, princess etc.. but there are tons of nice kids too. The principle is new and open to suggestions. The statistic on this sight do not match our experience. There is a pretty good balance of rich and poor, as well as a variety of ethnic origins. The only test scores to pay attention to is SAT/ACT, because the test does not vary from state to state.
