half of the classes are fun and i learn stuff, half suck and i hate.

It's been a mixed experience. If we had it to do over again, I would have encouraged our child to attend a regular high school. I think the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. The academic pressure is too great, there are few extracurricular activities. On the other hand, college is probably going to seem easier than high school, after the experience at Tesla STEM.

Tesla STEM is an amazing school and the teachers move on to the next subject only once you've understood it. There are also many opportunities to make up for a bad grade.

Stem is an academically rigorous school. There's a lot of competition and comparison within the student body that some can find to be a very toxic environment. A lot of people also struggle with mental health and stability. However, anyone planning to go into a stem field will find the school to be worthwhile. The people at this school are mostly bearable. There are people who aren't ideal to be paired with in a project or are stuck up. Some kids at the school have APs and 4.0 GPAs stuck so far up in their brain that their ability to function properly is impaired. These kids are the ones that make you feel bad about the grades you have. Another part of the student body frequently talk about wanting to leave the school and/or death. Regardless, most of the people at this school are intelligent and have something to bring to the table, and the majority will succeed in some way in the future. The teachers and faculty at this school are very supportive and helpful, even though some may not think the same. They all genuinely care about the school and/or the subject that they teach. While some of them may come off awkward and standoffish, they have good intentions in the end. The curriculum is fast paced and expect at least 2-3 hours of homework a night if you are a good student and are planning to get good marks. There is at least one test a week.There are virtually no after school activities. The clubs are either very generic or are straight up odd; there is no in between. If you are planning to have any social life or are planning to stay fit outside of the school, you would have to go to the other "home" high schools. Overall, if you are not a nerd, are not willing to keep up with the academic rigor, need to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night, weak to stress, and weak to negativity and pessimism, this school is not ideal for you (if you even got in).

the teachers are very knowledgeable and supportive of students
