This school is terrible. Do NOT send your child here. My daughter is 16 now and still talks about the most horrible year of her life at this school. She was bullied, physically assaulted, the “counselors/therapist” would talk about what they discussed with students in front of other students. They accused her of self harm (I personally checked her and found nothing) and told HER they were going to report us to CPS. They never said any of this to us. They pulled her into the office because her grades were low and told her that they needed to do something about her grades because she was bringing the schools scores down. Which worked to our advantage because she was put on an IEP. But you don’t tell a child “you’re bringing our scores down”. I went to the school several times about issues and they were swept under the rug. On paper this school looks great but it’s because they don’t take into account personal experiences. Put your kid in private school or go down to Redondo. I’m happy to report that my daughter is doing well (luckily we moved back to Northern California) but still has ptsd due to her time at this school.

lemme be honest. this school thinks they are amazing, but it sucks. it sucks really bad. i’ve been called slurs, i’ve been through harassment for being an openly lgbtq+ student. and the school pretends like they care, when they don’t. there are so many good teachers, but so many bad ones as well. homework load is also too much. so many kids have to go through after school activities, and sometimes it gets too much. they need to chill sometimes. the good teachers have actually cared abt me, but then there’s the ones that don’t give a dang if i start sobbing in class. i honestly wish for the best for the amazing teachers, and i hope they will actually start to care about what i have to go through as a student there. hopefully they will start caring about me being called literal slurs, and the harrassment. but i doubt it.

An amazing school where my child blossomed from elementary to middle school. Teachers are supportive, interested in your student and their wellbeing. This school laid a great foundation for high school and my student was 100% prepared when she entered high school and knew what to expect academically. It is challenging but not needlessly. As a parent I feel it is my role to give my child the opportunities and whatever support they need to succeed - it is not just the job of the school system. So if you are willing to lean in and make sure you are engaged and supporting your child, this will be a great fit. Loved the structure and opportunities - art at your fingertips, Cotillion, music, leadership - they offer many opportunities.
