Overall good school. Quiet and clean neighborhood. Biggest issue for this year is the T-K teacher and the only one. Very unfortunately, the previous teacher left for a different opportunity and a 4th grade transitioned into teaching T-K. The lack of compassion, nurture, kindness, and EXPERIENCE is so clear. Also, has a horrible attitude. Many parents are disappointed and share concerns. Please in the future consider an experienced teacher that is fit for the class.

My child has excelled and made amazing progress even through Covid. I’m proud and happy with all the staff. This is a school I highly recommend to all families.

My child and I have been very happy with everything about Deer Canyon. My child has received extra help with school work, loved his teachers and is thrilled to see the Principal. He hugs her every morning. I read the last review and I have had the exact opposite experience. The staff at Deer Canyon know my child by name and have gone out of their way to help him. Everyone contacts me right away and I love all the extra things that they do. There are assemblies, family nights and awards all the time. It is a fun place for my son to grow and learn everyday.

I am baffled by all the great comments about this school. Although if they are going back many years ago I can agree. In the last three years the school has gone down the drain. There’s a principal who doesn’t seem involved and doesn’t follow up with parent concerns. If your child is struggling they will wait till he/she is so far behind to do anything. Overall I’m a disappointed and not pleased with the quality of academics here. I will be pulling my kids from this school next school heat.

The staff always follows through with what they say they are going to do. The principal is always happy and knows every student by name.

Great schoo my daughter goes to school there the teachers are great and always available.My daughter is in second grade now but she had agreat first grade teacher in Ms.poole that prepare her for the next grade. The principle is great very involved and always willing to listen to concerns from parents.I love the school and I would highly recomended.

This was the first year with Deer Canyon Elementry. My Grandson attended first grade this year, his teacher Miss Poole was awesome. The whole staff has been awesome, communication was great, lots of parental involvement.

I LOVE this school. Not only did I attend Deer Canyon from K through 6 but now my daughters are attending there as well. I was prepared and ready for Jr. High and now have a Masters. I am a school psychologist. Deer Canyon was where I began to love school and learning! I see the same thing in my daughters - they LOVE Deer Canyon as well. Anytime I have concerns I can email the teacher and get a response the same day. I have nothing but positive things to say about Deer Canyon Elementary School! I am ALWAYS welcome in the classroom whenever I have a day off and my girls don't. Anytime I want to volunteer I can even when I notified the teacher the day of. Way to go Deer Canyon!!!
