With the exception of a few, the staff was detached and generally uninspired. Very strict attendance rules with lunch detentions that affect a child's ability to participate in school activities or receive honors, despite having an average over 93. Staff is not stable. My son had 4 different ela and math teachers in 1 year. Also, teachers can be very rude - and that comes from the top down. Principal is not sympathetic and cares more about perception than reality. We left after 6 years because the Principal became intolerable.

I am very happy with this school. My son is on his first grade here. He loves his teachers and loves going to school. I love that the class isn’t overcrowded and I feel that he gets all the attention that he needs.

I am shocked at some comments here. We visited the school this week and toured for pre-K. We really like the school in general and everyone seemed so polite, teachers and students. When we entered a higher grade classroom all the kids got up and welcomed us with a loud “ Good morning”. This was quite impressive. Reading all these negative comments makes me really hesitant to enroll my child here. I hope people don’t make up stories because of minor disagreements with teacher or principals.

I'm very disappointed with Immac School's decision to rotate their teachers in the middle grade. Teachers who have no experience or knowledge of teaching a particular subject are "learning" with our kids. The problem is they don't know how and the kids suffer. An ELA teacher who still focuses on Social Studies (book choices) and don't teach grammar. When asked by students how to do something responds with "Read the instruction." If the children understood it would they bother to ask? He just keeps on asking them to read books and answer questions. He doesn't return papers on time so the students don't know what's right or wrong thereby getting the same mistake over and over again. Or a Math teacher teaching Social Studies who don't use the given textbook confusing the kids where to study from. It's good that students learn from listening and note-taking but not all children learn that way (hence the different learning techniques). Even college students use textbooks! Share the resource text or change the school's social studies text to what the teacher is using. With the amount of information Social Studies have - students need all the text/source they can have.I believe that it is such a waste of resources to not let these teachers handle subjects that they are truly experts in. These particular Immac experiment is not working or benefitting our children. And then, we are told to not air our complaints on the web and inform them directly. With the way that children can be targeted? This is the safest venue. I really hope they rotate these teachers back to their own subjects. There is a reason they excel in it and have chosen to teach it for years. Let the students benefit from it.

Prior to enrolling my child into ICS, I heard nothing but great things about this school. I want the best education for my child and ICS seemed like it would be it. The tuition: We pay tuition for July and August, when our kids are not in school. The teachers: Do not really pay attention to the kids. My child comes home with a full lunch kit and when walking into the school in the mornings, her teachers don't even pay attention to notice of she's there in the line or not. If I could give this school 0 stars, I would. I don't understand how this is a private school.

I went to ICS and then I went a top high school and a top private university where. I now have my masters in just 5 years. ICS prepared me well for the academic challenges ahead and the caring staff also met my spiritual which was even more important.

I've read one of the review about the teacher being so helpful and dedicated but strongly disagreed with that comment. I had to take my child out because my child did not get the help, support or guidance to learn. It felt like a boot camp there. My child was being pressured to learn. I was flooded with negative comments rather than encouragement or support. The teacher had very little patience with my child and was so quick to give detention. She was very unapproachable and disconneted with me or my child. I knew i had to take my child out as this would affect learning.

I strongly disagree with the last entry. THE TEACHERS, are responsive and dedicated to their students. They are available via e-mail or you can just place a note in your child's folder. However, they can't do it alone. Parents, also, have to be advocates for their children educational process. It takes a village.

TEachers are not helpful at all. I wish they were good at communication. Too much pressure instead of what being taught. I end up sending my kid to Kumon as he is not doing well in the exams.

ICS is a great School that recognizes the sovereignty of God. The Principal teachers and all staff I have met are respectful and committed to their work. My daughter joined Grade 7 as a transfer student and she was assisted to settle in very well.

My child attends this school and is going to grade 1. I like the teachers that I have been in contact with especially my son's kindergarten teacher Ms. Reyes who was lovely and would keep me up to date if my son misbehaved in class. Also, Ms. Breen (principal) is wonderful. She actually knows all her kids and call them out by their names (how she does this I don't know). However, I feel they should develop a system wherein children who are more advance in their class should be given more advanced work. I will see what happens in this 1st grade because my child is reading at a 2nd grade level and so do a couple of kids that I know about and there are kids I know who are below 1st grade level in both reading and other skills. I am curious to see what will happen in 1st grade because all these kids will be there and they will be at different levels. I just don't want my child to get bored even though he is challenged when he gets home. So I will just wait and see.

I greatly recommend this school. My son has attended ICS since kindergarten. He is currently in 4th grade, and does very well academically and socially. He has received Principal Honors every year. I knew Dr. Jaffe and she was a great principal. She helped my son in kindergarten when he was having problems adjusting to his new school. I haven't had any problems with the new principal, Ms. Breen, She was very supportive and accommodating to my son when we had a recent tragedy in my family. ICS teachers work with the students. They are fully enriched through homework and testing. As with any school, parent involvement is also important to a child's success.

This school is a waste of your money. The children in these schools are completely behind in math and various subjects.
