If you are thinking of enrolling your child in this school just run the other way. This school, discriminates against any child with ADHD, learning disabilities, or any other condition that requires extra help in the classroom. They do not want these types of students and will treat your child unfairly as a way to push you out. The bullying is ridiculous and some of the teachers are just as bad as the children when it comes to bullying students. Some teachers just yell all day, others inappropriately yap about their personal love lives to the students when they should be teaching class. However, this school, and more specifically the principal, also has a serious problem with favoritism and if you are not someone who has multiple generations of family who attended this school, has plenty of free time to volunteer, or a ton of money to donate then good luck to you. Your concerns will not be taken seriously. I had such a bad experience with this school that I have been turned off from Catholic education all together. I thought the smaller school setting would be better for my child, however the small setting was just a catalyst for cliques to develop and a "no new kids wanted" mentality.

Extremely satisfied by the dedication shown by the teachers, staff especially the principle Mrs. Winters. There is a commitment to provide the children with the highest level of academic learning, coupled with a strong sense of community. We're very proud of having our kids attend HCJCA.

Excellent!! So far, I have found excellent teachers, great strategies for character building and awareness of the rest of the community/others in need. There is also, a wide variety of extra curriculum activities that let our kids experience more and form a well-rounded individual. Also, a great leader on the principal, who is always looking for ways to improve our school.

my daughter attends Prek there and its been great. The classes are about 18 students with three teachers which I think is great since its the first time four year old are in a school setting and without parents, you need as much supervision as possible for your little one. They have monthly themes in which they learn a lot and discover how the world works. Apart from learning letters, numbers, shapes, days of the weks, mothns,colors they learn how to be kind between friends, sharing, waiting their turn. My daughter is very well prepared for Kidergarden. Great school, caring teachers and safe enviorment. Parents are also very attend and take on class participations or any activity for special holidays. Overall am very happy and I will recomend this school for your preschooler.

Nice school, but does not prepare students for high school as well as it should be. I am a former student and I attended one of the top high schools in New York state. All the best teachers (Mrs. Bonus, Mrs. Quichton, Mr. Steinmuller), are all retired. HCJ did not prepare me well. I had trouble adjusting to the work. Bullying and discrimination goes on inside the classrooms. People who are in love with the school might say otherwise, but I speak from first-hand experience. I felt I would have been happier in another school. I went to high school unprepared and with low self-esteem, but thankfully I was very happy with my high school. The school also should look into offering the Regents Exams.

I go to this school the teachers are so mean they scream at you for no reason. For example mrs.z one of the 6th grade teacher is very bad she is very mean and gives so much homework. One time I fell off the stairs because the bag was so heavy

My children all attended Holy Child, two are still students at the school. My three older children were extremely well-prepared for high school, and were admitted to Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech and LaGuardia, as well as top Catholic high schools. Holy Child has really expanded their "extra" programs in the last few years, and now has an amazing art program, music program, ballroom dancing, CYO sports program (basketball, volleyball and track), computer graphics, band, choir, foreign language, after school program, tutoring, science fair and more -- it's a safe and caring environment for kids and an all around great school.
