This school does its best to cater to the modern day challenges of its' diverse population. Our family has witnessed first hand how the staff, and administration, alter their approach, specifically relating to the implementation of curriculum to accommodate all of their students. The teachers hold to their standards while adjusting, when needed, to the needs of the children. Utilizing modern educational techniques, and resources, these dedicated teachers are providing this population with a proper foundation from which to grow. An added bonus is the parental support that is evident at various after school programs, and special activities. It truly is a village school. Kudos!

Pre-K program needs huge improvements. Pre-K teacher is inattentive to individual needs, and seem to be out of touch with the age group in itself. Very poor communication as well. The rest of the school/grades are excellent and I am very pleased otherwise with OQS. If you have a child that is planning to attend the Pre-K you better hope the current teacher retires this year.

Both of my daughters have had excellent experiences at OQS. Responsive teachers, positive and supportive principal, great programs including: garden club, outdoor club, girls on the run and band. My children are happy to go to school every day.

Not the school for kids on the Autism Spectrum or ADHD. They do not have adequate resources to learn behavioral management skills needed for these types of students. Their policy is proactive management; however, my child was the victim of reactive discipline, spending much time in the principal's office for behavior he could not control. The result was an increase in disruptive, defiant behavior at home and at school. It is a great school for students that do not exhibit challenging behavior; however, the children exposed to this constant disruption often miss out on the curriculum. So in a nut shell, it is not adequate behavioral management for all students.
