The past two years has been a nightmare. My A student has Fs in more then one class. My daughter is scoring way above her class and 3 times I've gone and requested them to push her ahead a year or more challenging classes and they have done nothing. My son was put in a " reset room" iss sugar coated. He has ADHD and only in first grade. I was not contacted and have considered home schooling him because of how they handle his learning disabilities. He sits with a teacher at lunch and they make him fill out star charts that he feels shows he was bad because he never gets all the stars. I went to the high school about my sons grades twice and the principal never got back with me. My daughter was bullied again and Mrs Dalton ignored my calls and emails. If your a parent that truly is involved with your child's education and will say something if you feel a change is needed or you don't understand why things are ran the way they are - find another school for your children. I love so many of the teachers there- they are amazing its the people they answer to that I'm seeing causing parents frustration

I am so sad to see the review from October 2012. I wholeheartedly disagree with that review. To give the Purdy Music Department a 1 is ludicrous. A Department that produces a successful student musical each year, has a Marching Band that places 1st or 2nd consistently in Parade competitions every year, has on average 15-20 High School students in band and choir qualify for competition at the State level each year, and helps many graduates audition for and receive College Music Scholarships should by no means receive a rating of "1" Having lived in large cities & small towns I can say that this school does have it's problems, but every school does. Most teachers are not from Purdy, in fact most of them don't even live in Purdy but commute to teach here by choice. My family is not from Purdy originally, but my child loves the school, her teachers & the administrators. We are always able to work through any difficulties side by side with the teachers and staff with success.

Purdy school system is a disgrace. For most but not all the teachers are not concerned with teaching children, but dictating to the tests that rate the schools. For example the music teacher is one whose tries to be buds with the children and never accomplishes a thing. Coming from a musical back ground I give the music department at Purdy School a 1. The Principles and Superintendent for the most are from Purdy and cater to certain families that run the town. I would be best for Purdy to rid itself of all the home town teachers, principles and others on the board and start a fresh. This would be and improvement There is nothing good about Purdy School District.
