I'm entering my senior year at South, and it has been a great 3 years. The coursework is challenging and interesting (for the most part.) I rarely find myself with too much homework, even though I'm involved in NHS, band, college and AP courses, and swimming. The teachers genuinely want their students to succeed and go out of their way to help them do so.The students are actually very friendly and easygoing. I have not dealt with any bullying at South. The athletics and extracurricular programs are by far the best in Pueblo. Sports are highly competitive and challenging; the coaches help develop integrity, dedication, and pride; they are also supportive of academic achievement. I will be a four year swimmer and the captain of the swim team this coming year, and swimming was honestly the highlight of going to South.South students also have a huge amount of school spirit. We have fun school assemblies, our student section as sporting events are always loud and proud, and walking through the halls you'll see many students decked out in black and white.Overall, South is by far the best high school in Pueblo, and I would highly recommend it.

The school has a great band, with a very knowledgeable teacher and my grandson goes there.
