Both of my children started here in vpk. My daughter will be in 8th this year and my son will finish middle school here too. They have thrived here.

Catholic education is fundamental in our family., My 2 children has been attending since 2015. A+, teachers are dedicated which is so important for our family.

My daughter has been there since kindergarten and we’re approaching 7th grade : wouldn’t change a thing: having a faith based school that has been able to guide us thru the challenges life brings has been a blessing … anything worth keeping requires hard work … school shouldn’t be considered otherwise :) great education for growing youth

Very happy my grandchildren attend this school. The education they are getting is superb. My grandson has learned more here than he did in public school. I know some of the staff and they are great. The teachers the children have had are very good and caring. Would recommend Bishop Larkin to ay one who is looking for a private school for their child. God bless the teachers and staff.

We have had 3 children at this school since kindergarten and have been very happy. The faculty and administration is great. Our children are getting a great education while in an environment where respect of others is very important.

It steadily declines every year but my child just doesn't want to leave the few friends made and only has another year to go before high school begins and this experience is behind us!

Very pleased with the education my child has received since preK. Administration is very proactive and always available. Teachers are wonderful and my child has excelled every year. BLCS is family!

This school is not for every child! I pulled my children out while in 4th and 5th grades (both started from preK). Classrooms typically run in the high 20s and 30s with the exception of the younger grades. This can leave those children with learning disabilities to get behind or fall through the cracks. Granted, I went along with all their suggestions to help my child, such as extra tutoring, occupational therapy, this was never enough. And they let me know this, almost accusing me of being a bad parent (this made me cry for days). Unfortunately, my child's years here remain ones that he'd rather forget. It took one teacher at a public school who worked with him and had faith in him. I had an amazing team of teachers and counselors that were encouraging and helped him as well. He recently graduated with full honors-not needing any tutoring or after school help for the last 3 years, won the technology award, and voted most dependable by his teachers and peers. I'm not sure what would of happened had he remained here. As a parent, what's important here is picking the school that best fits your child.

I strongly agree with the parent who posted the wonderful things about this school. My children both have attended this school for the past 5 years and the administration and staff are abousoloutely amazing. They are very caring and understanding and they truly make that great extended family that you would want to raise your child. The academics are strong but the vales and faith that the children learn is worth the sacrifice. In today's world we constantly worry about the things our children learn from their friends , the media, and technology. Well this school has a fabulous way of teaching our kids how to become respectful teenagers. Being at a school where my kids can openly talk about God and learn how to treat others with kindness and respect is a blessing. This school is truly amazing and I totally disagree with all the negative comments below. Remember there is always two sides to any story. The administration and teaches work very closely with parents. The communication is outstanding, weekly newsletters, conferences , emails, and they have an open door policy where they will always make time to meet with you if you request it. So with my two sides to every story, the question remains, was there an issue with those parents children that the administration or teachers were trying to address that they did not want to acknowledge and this is why they are trying to give the school a bad reputation?

I have to disagree with one of the post saying that if your child needs extra help your out of luck (they used a different word that I don't think is appropriate). My son is mostly deaf (he has to wear hearing aids) and they have been more than accommodating. They allow a speech therapist from the county to meet with him twice a week. His teacher has taught the rest of the students about his disability. They all know that they must get his attention and he has to be able to see them in order to communicate with him. This school has gone above and beyond what any other school would have been willing to do for us. All students get special attention at Bishop Larkin. They work very diligently with each child no matter what their abilities or disabilities may be to make sure every child is cared for properly. I cherish the staff here and fell very blessed to be a pert of this school.

This school is full of "cliques". Most all of the parents are that way, very stuck up and unfriendly unless your "in" with their group. A lot of rumors and gossiping. There are a select number of devoted and wonderful teachers there, however, if you don't get one of them, you could end up with a nightmare on your hands. I mean a complete horrific nightmare filled with tears. And when you bring your concerns to the principal, she will simply take the teachers side and some how your child will be blamed, labeled and given up on. In addition, the front office staff is rude and disorganized. Not a very Christian place to be :(

BISHOP LARKIN IS A GOOD SCHOOL... HIGH STANDARDS OF EDUCATION AND EXTREMELY FAST PACED. IF YOUR CHILD FITS THEIR "MOLD", ITS A GREAT SCHOOL, HOWEVER, IF AT ANYTIME YOUR CHILD NEEDS EXTRA HELP ACADEMICALLY, ITS NOT GOOD. YOU WILL LEAVE EVERY CONFERENCE UPSET AND THEY WILL PAINT THE ABSOLUTE WORST PICTURE FOR YOU. I HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME FEED BACK FROM OTHER PARENTS SO I KNOW ITS NOT ISOLATED. I'VE ALSO HEARD FROM A FEW PARENTS THAT IF THERES A BEHAVIOR ISSUE, THEY ARE QUICK TO RECOMMEND MEDICATION. AGAIN, GOOD SCHOOL... CLEAN, GOOD EDUCATION... AS LONG AS YOUR CHILD FITS THE COOKIE CUTTER THEY HAVE LAYED OUT.

First I want to start off by saying, there are a select few amazing teachers and TA's at this school. Without their dedication to education and their loving support, this school would be a total loss. This school is full of "cliques" and very unwelcoming. Class sizes are horrible and their curriculum has gone to "teach to the test" mentality and they are following all of the bad parts of common core. Administration is very disorganized and do not know how to create a loving school climate, nor do they live true catholic values. There is absolutely NO communication between administration and parents. Parents are left to the rumor mill to find out what is going on at the school. A big change is needed. I hope God answers the prayers of the many parents and students that attend school here.

.If your child needs a little extra help with learning, or not at their standards they will make this problematic for you. They wanted me to get my pre- k child to be evaluated for adhd which her pediatrician said was to soon to to come to a proper diagnoses of adhd.My child was never in daycare so acclimating to a school was a slight process.I felt like they gave up on my child.My child passed kindergarten with no problems and her teacher was wonderful now the beginning of 1st grade we are going through the impatience of the staff once again.I am starting to feel discriminated against.When enrolling my oldest child the assistant principle learned that she had adhd and told me that she would advise staying in public schools because they do not have assistance for children with adhd.I paid about 400 for her dues and registration and a month later she was expelled. She.She said that teachers were very rude to her.When we had a meeting with teachers and the principle she told my child infront of us, "You cant remember your work..then you should be in a nursing home"..Christian values to put a child down and not even give them a chance.

If your child is a "normal" learner then this is an ideal school. But, if your child is gifted, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc. then I would look elsewhere. They are not able to accommodate children that are not within the normal learning curve. If your child needs additional help beyond title 1, then be prepared to pay. Not only are you paying the tuition but you will be paying for any additional remediation that your child may need whether it's speech therapy, PT, ADHD , learning evaluations, etc. The school expects that you do this even if you are not financially able to. My child is now thriving at a local public school and is receiving all needed help and my child is the happiest I've ever seen them, and they no longer come home crying. My only wish was that I had listened to my gut and pulled my kid out sooner. I would have liked to keep my kid here as the religious component is very important to me as I went to Catholic school during my school years, but unfortunately, God doesn't cookie cut our children and thankfully they are not the same. While they do not discriminate in any way, I want to let others know in order save tears and aggravation.
