This school saved my life. I thought I was nothing and had no goals in life but then this school straightened me out and now I am on top of the world. It breaks my heart that this school after 130 years has to close... I only hope that the board will somehow manage to bring this school back to life and change more young mens life for the better like it did to mine.

We were wondering if maturity and self discipline was possible for our happy-go-lucky son, even with our best efforts at giving him structure and boundaries. He's been at CHA for 3 semesters (plus summer school) now and we can't be more thrilled with all the benefits to our son. He admires all of his teachers, has made good friends, he is talking about going to college, has started seeing grades as academic competition (4.0 this fall), and is respectful to adults! The good role models of the faculty and staff have made a huge impact on attitude and motivation for our son. Modern distractions are eliminated while at school: The boys are not allowed iPods, cell phones and Internet use/email. There is a Gaming and recreation room, which is allowed certain hours during the week for those who have done their work. This elimination of distraction is a huge benefit to their ability to focus on their work and athletics. The boys write letters using the postal service. Parents are able to communicate through email/calls with staff, and arrange for phone calls with our son when needed.

CHA is the real deal for the eductaion of young boys and girls who want to recieve the best possible chance to succeed in life. The foundation of Military discipline and Christian values provide the balance of what boundaries young students need to follow. The boarding; with the exemption of parents, friends, cell phones, and other distractions give the proper focus, and provide insight as to what is important. My son went there for two years and two summers, and I wish I would have made him stay to graduate. He actually told me he wished he would have stayed the course and continued to college with ROTC. Many students come with problems, other because of the affluence and prestige of southern military tradition. Worth every penny!

I attended CHA for one year many years ago. I am surprised they are still in business. I read in one of the reviews about the severe paddling with the cricket bat and don,t doubt it for a moment. I guess that is why the current staff stated they no longer do that. The level of punishment that the cadets endured in the late 50,s would shock the puplic today. I am now 71 years old and still remember physical punishment that lasted until 2 or 3 in the morning. The courts today would take a very dim view of that type conduct today. I wish I had more favorable comments for CHA but the favoritism for some students was so obvious and the staff didn,t try to hide it. I have told stories to my grand children about that place and still think some of the staff had more problems than the kids they were supposed to be guiding. Would really like to see some type of independent board be available to all cadets if they have suffered any of these atrocities. Would hate to see something on the 6 o'clock national news because no one even looked into all the negative comments about the institution.

This school is exceptional. Our son is excelling academically. His attitude is so positive and he is now grateful for his family. We highly recommend this school. The staff is incredible. They are caring, well qualified, and dedicated. Our decision to send our son there was a wonderful decision. He is an eighth grader and will graduate from CHA>

I am so very glad to see that this school has reopened. It was my family's dream to have a private school for those parents who wanted a better life for their sons who may have gone astray. Thank you to the benefactors for reopening this wonderful school.

most of the things they say in the interview are false or twisted. if you want to learn how to be cold hearted,a bullie, and fear authority the rest of your life, this is a great school for you. if your a parent thinking about sending your child here. NO. send them to a good christian school and put them in ROTC program after school. thats much better than CHA

CHA is a great school. It saved our son's life. He now has goals, dreams, and a future. He was on a self-destructive path to nowhere. The CHA "family" cares about our son and his future. He will graduate in May of 2012 and could not be more proud of what he has achieved. We have seen him grow from a kid who didn't care about anything but going out with his friends to a young man who is a leader, is accoutable and responsible. He is wonderful to be around now and we could not be more proud. Chamberlain-Hunt IS the answer.

Our son just graduated from CHA in May 2011. He came to CHA in January 2010, as an immature 16 year old, and has graduated an 18 year old young man. Attending CHA was a life changing experience for him, just what we were looking for. He grew in his relationship with God, finally understands that actions have consequences, and began making the grades he always should have, nothing less than a 3.75. The one on one attention and mentoring by the cadre is a wonderful part of the experience. My son knows there are people at CHA that truly care about him and are pulling for them. He knows he can reach out to them even though he has now graduated and they will be there for him. He has a full time job this summer and is starting college in August. He has accomplished things at this point in his life, that two years ago we did not know if he ever would. Thank God for CHA and God Bless all the faculty and staff there.

My son graduated from CHA in May 2011. It was an amazing turn around for him. He came there in August 2010 a 17 year old boy with no confidence and no friends. He graduated with a 3.8 gpa and now is a 18 old man with a great attitude on life. I truly believe CHA saved my sons life. The teachers and all the staff are wonderful people. This school is a great place to send your children. Thank You

We are happy with CHA. Our son has been there for over a year. This is the best that he has ever done in academics. After talking to some of the cadets, I found myself referring to them as young men. That was refreshing. They were also quite fun-loving! If possible, try to visit at the end of the school year in May and hear the speeches of the seniors. Then you will become very excited about the vision, culture and results of CHA. We are truly impressed with our son s increased focus when studying and how much he has matured. We are very happy with CHA and would encourage others to look into it to see if it may be the right fit for their son.

Chamberlain-Hunt is an excellent school with Christian values. The have a 130+ year tradition how to handle boys. Most of the teachers have Masters degrees. I would say most are superior teachers who really care about the students and try to help them. It's a very nurturing environment. The military component of the program really helps to develop your son. Unlike most private schools, C-H has a committment not to turn away boys for financial need. I'm very grateful for the support C-H has given my son and family--I could not afford to pay all the tuition. My son is a high school graduate thanks to Chamberlain-Hunt.

Chamberlain-Hunt Academy has been the best gift I have ever or will ever give to my son. He was not wid about the idea of going to begin with but he feel into the routine and began to set goals for himself. His self esteem grew by leaps and bounds and his grades have been better than they have ever been. His life has been touched by the caring staff and has learned that "actions have consequences". HE has decided he wants to graduate from CHA and that choice pleases me greatly.

I sent my son to CHA for the 09-10 school year. He needed discipline which he got and needed to improve his academics which he did. What I did not like was the fact that he was in fights with other students nearly every week and this seemed to be permitted by the Tac officers while not condoned by the rest of the staff. I was hoping that my son would learn learn christian morals when in fact he came home with a filthy mouth and a total disregard for anything moral. I believe that the administration is either oblivious to what goes on behind the scenes or they turn a blind eye to it. They have very good intentions but they need to get a handle on what goes on in the off hours.
