Average class size of around 30, with most in high 20s and at least one in the mid 30s. Students on the margins get left behind with with that many students in most individual classrooms at any given time and with no full time behavior or full time special education support staff on site. The single individual who handles educational support is spread across multiple buildings and does the best they can, but some students really could use individual class periods to help get their essential skills up to level. For students with learning differences, it is not a good situation. Additionally, the dangerous and problematic behavior of some students makes for an unsafe environment. Said behaviors are enabled and fueled by administration.

We have had a wonderful experience at St. Bede. The faculty are awesome. We also enjoy, as two working parents, the after school program and additional clubs and activities after school to engage our children. I would highly recommend St. Bede for a strong education in a family centered environment.

I attended this school myself and from what I have heard little has changed. The other comments that mention this school is cliquey, and limiting in terms of creativity are completely true. I went on attending a public highschool post St. Bede and felt incredibly unprepared for individual thinking and learning required to succeed. Many of the teachers I remember were not qualified to be teaching the subjects that they taught and hardly ever engaging. The classrooms felt like boxes, and lessons went on similarly to lectures, followed by a regurgitation of information with little attention paid to each individual student's education. Frankly I might be biased because of how much more Pittsburgh public schools offered me after St. Bede, but if you want to send your child to a private institution in hopes of broadening their minds and curiosity, send them to a better school.

My children have had a wonderful experience for the past six years at this school. The small classroom size allows teachers to have a relationship with students.
