Poor administration. School is filthy dirty with vulgar writing in bathrooms and just lack of cleanliness. Over crowded requiring the use of portable trailers. Trailers are falling apart and many leak rain water leaving mold and mildew. Office staff is rude. Little to no communication.

Great school. My kids have been going to NWE for 4 years. Teachers really care. My sons are doing great.

There's a lot of good teachers & a few not so great teachers at this school. The biggest problem at this school comes from its poor leadership. From the level of grammatical errors found in teacher letters, and poorly written correspondence from the school's principal, I have to question the level of education that some of these school employees have received. My wife and I know a great number of parents other than us that have had direct confrontations with the vice principal over things that any other school would make a top priority. For instance, one of our friends had an issue with the set bus routes and was told that it wasn't her (the vice principal's) job, and that maybe our friends should just keep their kids at home. When parents drop in during the day for whatever reason, school administrators seem too preoccupied with office chat to even give the time of day. Unfortunately, this "it's not my job" attitude and sub par performance seems to be acceptable performance in this area given the fact that the current administrators still work at this school. The quick summary: The teachers at this school are decent, but their leadership is awful.

There are some Teachers who care, but many more who do not. My son has had a terrible year, where the has been bullied and picked on. both the staff and teacher are aware, yet do nothing to help!! even when picked on for his religion, the advice of the teacher is to change religions??? give me a break!! this is insane. The entire school year the teacher insisted that I put my son on ADD medicine, because he is too hyperactive. when I got him tested (only because she emailed my at least twice weekly, insisting upon it), the diagnosis was that he was normal, and no medicine was recommended. when bringing the issues with the teacher to the principal, who seems not to care about much, nothing was done. even when I requested a classroom change, nothing. I brought the issue up with the school district, which then routed my concerns down to the staff of the school, hoping that it would have more leverage coming from their bosses, but still nothing. So here I am picking my life up and moving to a different part of town, just so my son can not come home and ask why everybody, including the teacher, hates him, and what is wrong with him. The only thing wrong here is with this school.

My oldest attended this school for 4th and 5th grade and I loved it and he loved it. My youngest now goes there in kindergarten, when my youngest started he had some special needs to work out and the teachers, principle and the whole staff have been amazing with helping! My son has came so far now, we are now moving to another state, going to be sad to leave this school! I hope we get lucky and get another school as caring and willing to help as this one. Love Northwest!!

This school has teachers with good personalitys, however my 2 kids have gone to this school 3 years and ive had alot of trouble with getting my kids on the bus after writing notes to the teachers. Its been with 3 different teachers at that. I think this school is too over loaded with kids to the point teacher cant even do there jobs!!! This year me and a teacher have had lots of promblems with my child bringing home homework and writing it down...i get 1 or the other but never both. We've tried working this out but it still continue........

I am a parent volunteer, have had children in this school for the past 6 years and have really seen a change from good to not so good. For the most part, I think the teachers are good and try to do their best but get little support from administration, which is very detached it seems from school itself. The principal seems cold and distant and not very approachable, a complete opposite from the the principal that was there when we started and the affects of this type of administration ripple throughout the entire school in morale and overall feeling about the school. Most teachers are excellent and try to do the best they can with what they have to work with. The school is also getting very overcrowded, lunchtime is a madhouse, the back looks like a trailer park but still, one of the better schools in Wayne County.
