This is a school that has enormous potential to be one of the best schools in Maricopa County. But what prevents it from realizing its full potential is the lack of parental involvement, some backstabbing amongst a few staff members towards other colleagues, plus some of the students' display of disrespect for themselves, their peers, and most importantly the teachers. The principal really tries hard to help make WVMS a great school but unfortunately he's not getting enough support that he could use from the parents and the district.

My gosh I don't know where to begin! Racism, sometimes it even seems that the teachers don't even care about their students! I've heard teachers say bad words while their in class because they can't get the kids to co-operate! I'm not saying it's entirely the teachers fault, but little concern is given to the students and teachers. I personally learned very little this school year in Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I regret ever going to WVMS for my 7th grade year

The administration allows students to continually disrupt class, and even bring in drugs without more than one day suspension. Unbelievable. If you've got a kid there, head to a charter school--those are free, and they're more structured and a better environment for learners.

Great School for my kid! When I read the most recent reviews from parents, these are from parents who are NOT involved and NOT in touch with what is happening at the school. Middle School is a tough time for kids, my kids included, but Western Valley Middle School has so much to offer kids and parents that want to actually be part of great things. Teachers are very caring and administration is supportive of a good learning environment which includes disciplining students who disrupt class. Teachers I know are caring, not perfect. Outside the classroom they offer SUPER music programs, fantastic athletics, and they have award-winning spelling and math teams. Smart parents want their kids to attend Western Valley Middle School!

Bad, Bad, Bad, I do not recommend this school to no one. They are always on the news and racism is alive and well there.

This school is horrible. racism is openly expressed and teachers and the principal do nothing. They even knew a teacher was acting inappropriate with the male students for an entire year before they removed the teacher. I removed both of my children after only one year!

Western Valley Middle is a Performing Plus school that I am proud to send my kids to. Regardless of what others say, the administration and teachers are caring and concerned about how each child performs. My interactions have not been frequent but anytime I have come to talk with the principal, he has listened and taken action where he could. Parents who complain too much are usually those who do not attend events like the great music programs or PTO meetings. The stand on the outside pointing a finger and do not take care of their own problems in their own homes. Kids attending Western Valley are validictorians at high schools around the area and they take part in community activities. The school does the best it can with the resources it has. I am glad my students have had a good experience at Western Valley Middle School. Go Wildcats!
