The last 3 years many fights... Racial fights this year, boys can't even use the bathroom without getting harassed. Kids patting down other kids not only to steal their belongings but they will beat them up if you resist. If you want to be entertained with fights this is the place. And you have to wear masks or you aren't allowed to get food. All they do is promote vaccines. They offer the kids target gift cards they call you excessively to promote vaccines. So disappointed that the minorities are being targeted and so many kids out of control must have been the lockdowns.

South has a bad rep, but if you look closely at the students and how much the campus has improved within the last decade, you realize there is a great outlook in extracurriculars and teachers. South has a great reputation for their law program and classes offered. I've met inspiring teachers who have helped me pursue my aspirations into wanting to get into a top school. Although I wish my school offered more than 6 AP's, I do believe that finding opportunities and your own niche in this school are broadly easier than in other schools. To start off, if you don't really talk to anyone and want to keep it that way, most people won't really notice you-- like in most high schools-- and you won't get picked on. Because this school is located in a mostly low-income neighborhood, it is judged as such. Not to fret, there are many amazing staff and students to meet. It's hard not to make friends at this school if you're constantly involved. South has never had any shootings and I have not been invited to any gangs or drugs while at this school.It all boils down to who your surround yourself with and what your greatest goals are. If you focus on this, you'll be great holistically. If you want to pursue advanced programs like IB programs or 10+ AP classes, then South may not be for you. But if you are looking to meet some inspiring people, run away from drama, and get involved with school, then South is just for you.

I would rate my experience a 9/10, I had my teachers supporting me and I had a lot of positive friends, I really feel like the people who rate this school bad are just people who expected so much from the school but didn’t put in work or time to actually get a difference, so many people complain about How south Has easy access to drugs and People whose cut themselves etc, but teenagers are a mess, and the drugs are actually dealt with, we have security who helps remove them and the teachers who have students who bring drugs to school, they talk to parents, police officers and teachers who can help them out, if you complain about your child not getting help, it’s actually your child denying the help Because I’ve seen the police officers, teachers and security try to help students. South is actually a really positive school, with really great programs and opportunities that I’ve got to enjoy and I’m really happy I chose to go to south, I couldn’t be a prouder jaguar

I went to south mountain high school from june 1989-june 1993 and loved it
