Both of my sons go to Centennial and it has been a great experience. Prior to going there, I had heard so much gossip about how terrible Centennial is. We decided to try it. I'm glad we did. My sons are doing great. They are in GATE classes and thriving. They love their teachers. I find the teachers really care about the students, taking time to build relationships. There are a lot of fun assignments, like making cardboard arcade games in STEM- there is a day where they take the games next door to the elementary school and let the kids play them. There are a lot of fun clubs and extracurricular activities. I have heard there were issues in the past, but I think the staff has worked hard to eradicate these issues and improve the school environment. We have only had one minor issue there and it was handled quickly and appropriately. I filled out the question about special education because I was required to to post my review, but I don't have children who receive those services, so I can't say for sure. Centennial is a great place to be!

This school is the most HORRIBLE serviced school ever. First, Teachers constantly pick on students are not reliable. Second, Horrible things go on here as like mentioned teachers are not reliable so no one watches or reports anything to have it stopped. Third, People love to bully around here so if you wanna see your kids upset (which you don't) then this school is for you. Finally, Admin turns their backs on victims and let someone constantly harass you but when you do something about it you're the bad kid. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS.

I don't feel part of the environment. Teachers are very detached from students

We really wanted to love CMS as our experience at the elementary school next to it was wonderful. CMS has been disappointing at best. Admin seems to be chasing their tails. Teachers are unresponsive to questions and emails. Admin seems to pick and chose what rules of the handbook they follow. There are many violent fights occurring on campus along with vaping and drugs. The school doesn't appear to have resources to make the campus safe and secure for all. If they have the resources, they are certainly reluctant to use them. As an open district I encourage anyone considering Kyrene district to chose another middle school that has better leadership than what CMS has.

I would rate this school a 0 I am an african child who was called the N word by a cacasian child and he never got in trouble but if ot was the other way around i would have gotten a conduct referal i find this school to be extremly racist toward black kids and i think the good rating that it has is completly false.

I love CMS! Never had an issue with either of the admins or the PTOs in this school. Jocelyn Sims was an outstanding, caring Principal with new ideas that were copied throughout the district. Unfortunately, she had to relocate and her successor, Michelle Anderson, is equally sharp and caring. The teachers have always kept in touch with us concerning our kids and are willing to work with us to help them. Of course there will always be teachers you don't see eye-to-eye with and parents who feel they weren't treated well. Having had kids at this school over the past 15 years, I can tell you that our experience at CMS has been very, very good! I haven't regretted our kids' attendance there for one minute.

My son just got promoted last night, and I am EXTREMELY happy he no longer has to deal with this VERY poor excuse of an administrative staff! Tiffany Jump (8th grade dean of students) and Jocelyn Sims (principal) did EVERYTHING in their power to try and break my child! Jocelyn Sims is leaving and I hope they NEVER trust another child in her care! And Tiffany Jump needs to be fired as well! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

We love Cenntennial, great teachers, amazing athletics programs! My son had 3 fantastic years and we are super excited for our 5th grader to be a Sabercat! Mrs. Sims the schools (former) principal is amazing! Whoever takes her place has some really big shoes to fill. I took a chance on this school after hearing those old rumors, and its been nothing but a great ride academically for our son. I will say the old stigma about PTO moms is well alive at that school. If you aren't friends with the current president don't bother asking to help or be involved with any activity that involves the PTO.

This is our fourth year at Centennial. Our older graduated last year and youngest just finished 6th grade. The school is fantastic, amazing principal who will always put the kids needs first. Administrator and teacher are supportive and again kids education is first priority. Great academic and social experience. We are very happy.

I have 3 children attending the Centennial/Colina schools and could not be happier with the administration, leadership and teaching they have received. I would not want them to go anywhere else.

I spoke to my neighbor and his kid about Centennial to get their feedback in preparation for my own kids' future middle school plans. They both had nothing but good things to say about the school. They said it was a good community of kids and it was a safe positive learning environment. They also felt the instruction was great and challenging enough for the student. My neighbor also said he wouldn't change their decision if he had to do it over again.

After reading the comments below, I wanted to point out that many of them are from a few years ago. Great things are happening at this school with the addition of a great new principal! This is a great place to send your child! We have loved our last 3 years and the experiences at CMS!

Our school puts students' learning at the top of its priorities. Centennial's staff is willing and able to step up to any challenge.

The school is doing brand new things, which have been wonderful for student improvement. The school is much better than the score listed on the page.

This is our 3rd year at Centennial and it has been a wonderful experience! The staff is amazing, dedicated and knowledgeable in their subject areas. The principal Jocelyn Sims in her second year here has provided leadership that is well respected by the students, staff and community. There are many opportunities for students and parents to get involved. I would highly recommend CMS and encourage anyone who would like to know more about the school to come meet Mrs. Sims and take a tour.
