Great school, laid/provided a solid education that has helped our son as he advanced through high school, college and masters. He has maintained his beliefs & closest friends from his time at SMS despite being on the other side of the Country. Worth every penny. We only get one chance with our children, never forget that.

This school has been nothing but problems for one of my children’s. Always complaining instead of creating a solution. The new principle is very rude and doesn’t care how she talks to you. There not suppose to touch children but one incident she pushed my son up the steps because he was walking to slow. In the beginning this school seemed good because of the great education but that was all lies and if you’re not a favorite student they really don’t care about you. My son will exceed elsewhere with great caring education. Waste of my and kids time for sure.

Really regret sending my son here. His potential was wasted. His grades suffered throughout his time at Saint Matt's and now that he is in high school he is a straight a student!!! His teachers love him and he has met some really great people. He is no longer hanging with the wrong crowds and getting into trouble. Saint Matthew is a very clicky school. If you're not in church every sunday or a practicing catholic you will see the difference in how your child is treated. Catholic school was my only option as my child was unable to get into charter. Would not recommend sending your child here at all! Catholic education isn't always the best education!

I went to this school when I was younger and it was amazing! HOWEVER, it has changed. Parents beware: my family had fallen over financial hardships during the COVID-19 pandemic and my payments were being made, but yes, they were late. They withheld report cards causing us to have to borrow money to make a payment. They make the children suffer due to financial hardships. My child was chosen to do a reading for graduation and they took it away from her because my last payment was not paid by the day they wanted it. I told them I would be making it in 3 days time but they took her reading away from her and gave it to another child! For a catholic school, they are teaching kids resentment. The only reason my child is still attending here is because they added the registration fee into the tuition payments and we will be moving soon so I don’t want to switch schools too much. DO NOT send your child here if you cannot make timely payments every single month or your child will suffer for it!

This is a fabulous school. The teachers are attentive, demanding, and caring. I find the entire staff to be personable and approachable. The student load is small, this enables the teachers to interact with the students on a personal level. The environment is safe, serious, and friendly. The children are challenged academically and there is plenty of extracurricular activities for the kids to participate in. The communication from the staff to the parents is quick and constant. St. Matt's had their act together quickly during the shutdown days of the pandemic. Bugs and kinks were worked out fast and the workload given to the students was more then adequate. Over the years, I found that complaints about the school from parents were really manifestations of their frustration with their ability to pay the tuition. I find the tuition to be affordable and offers a great value for the money spent. My child is thriving at St. Matt's and my wife and I love the school. St. Matt's is the only thing keeping our family in the city of Philadelphia.

Saint Matthew School provides a wonderful loving learning environment for children. My son progressed academically, learned important study skills, and was well prepared for high school. He also participated in some of the many extracurricular activities available. Most importantly, he learned the importance of compassion, service, and respect for all. I have also had the privilege of teaching at Saint Matthew for many happy years. I view this school community as part of my family and I am Saint Matthew Proud.

I have two children attending St Matts. My one son will be going into his 8th grade yr and the other 7th grade. Both of my children love this school. The teachers really go above and beyond to help their students. For those who have complained about $ being spoke about often, well that's because some parents were not paying tuition on time. A few weeks back there was over $100.000 in tuition not paid. Saint Matts is a wonderful school

I love St. Matt's so much. I'm graduating soon and I really do not want to go. The only bad parts about this year is the new principal and a new priest. I miss Sister Kate a lot, the new principal doesn't let us have anything. She canceled all the dress down days, she makes us pray together over the loud speaker everymorning and when we are about to leave, she moved the masses (with our entire school 825 people) into the church, and she hounds us constantly about bullying and uses curse words to do so. The new priest used to teach religion classes to the seventh grade every Tuesday and one day he is in a horrible mood and takes his anger out on us. Cheerleaders, basketball players, baseball players, swimmers, soccer players, etc. do NOT get special treatment. We are treated just like everyone else. Sister Kate wasn't a horrible principal she just believed in giving second chances. All the good teachers were lost this year most likey because of the new principal. Other than these problems Saint Matthew is an amazing school that I have gone to for 7 years and I strongly recommend it for anyone that wants to send their child there.

WHen my child was a second grader we were going through the motions with doctors rxing ADHD and possible autism spectrum disorders. At first I felt they wouldnt accept my child, but after meeting with the teachers, principle and school counselors, they worked with us and made my child feel like he was cared about. They always made time for him and gave him extra help when needed My child graduated with honors and awards and we moved on to public high school. My child continually gets compliments on his academic progress and his writing, I feel St Matthew School is a fantastic place to send your child but you must be an active parent and address issues as they come, not with accusations but with an willingness to find acceptable solutions for both child, teacher and school. Thank You Sr Kate, Mrs Shicatano, Sr Lisa, Mrs Walker, Mrs Novack, only to name a few of the teachers who push your child to do their best, but also let them kow they care about them.

Excellent school. St. Matts definitely prepared me to do well and succeed in high school. I attended Father Judge afterwards and didn't learn one thing there (even though I had a great time.) St. Matts gave me the education and the work ethic to excel in high school. I had a great experience at Matts and have been hanging around with the same group of kids I've met there since 1st grade. Now I'm off doing well in college. Probably the best school in the city and would definitely recommend it.
