The school is terrible and parents are basically paying tuition for a failing school a lot of teacher turn over low test scores an out of touch principal who unorganized and talks at the the kids rather then to them

This school is terrible! Teachers can emotionally abuse your child and the leadership will do nothing about. Be ready for them to blame your child as the problem. My child had a terrible year at this school. The principal will do nothing because the are desperate to keep their teachers. The father will also do the same. They pretend to have the holy disposition about themselves when In reality they are the opposite. The humiliation and embarrassment that my child faced at this school has damaged her completely. Believe your child when you question them about their day. Advocate as much as you can to protect their young minds from the mistreatment and intimidation by these teachers.

My child has attended this St.Athanasius since kindergarten & now in third grade I would not recommend this school to anyone class sizes are ridiculous my child has 34 kids in the class there's no way 1 teacher can focus on 34 kids there is no way 34 kids are learning the same way she cannot & will not offer extra help to any child because it's way too many kids... Talking to the principal is pointless I brought up to her that my child is not grabbing the work she told me get a tutor (WOW) so why is my child attending private school?? I was told if my child is not getting the work it's not the teachers fault it's the child's fault, which doesn't make any sense to me I can help my child as much as I can but if the TEACHER is not doing her job in the classroom I'm at home being the teacher & the parent so once again Whts the purpose of paying for private school when you have to pay someone else to teach your child after school... My child's in 3rd grade and was never taught multiplication table (crazy right) just sent home a sheet after 2nd grade to practice her multiplication& regularly given speed test how can I child do a speed test on something they weren't taught by there teacher I asked my child does your teacher teach the basics of multiplication to the class you know 2x2=4 ,2x3=6......I was told no why weren't the kids taught the basics in math in 2nd grade so now they have to do a speed test & the teacher hasn't taught them the basics how can they do division if there not knowledgeable on multiplication..... I've talked to 3 parents & they've all taken there children out of this school after 3rd grade & then realizing how far behind there child education was once they went to another school. This school is being greedy , greedy for money the more students they have the more money they get they don't care about education there classroom sizes are huge , the principal is no help , & your child will be behind due to the mediocre teaching or should I say lack there of teaching , in my opinion they JUST DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDS EDUCATION. They pass kids just to move them on.

St Athanasius is a great school with the BEST teachers. My granddaughter is in the 5th grade and she attended this school since kindergardent,. At that time PRE-K wasn't existence. Overall I love this school, how the teachers work with the parents and they always keep the parents informed about the school.

My school is Saint Athanasius in Philadelphia, PA. It is a good community school. They could use more teachers to handle some students. Some students need more one on one attention.

My son attends this school and I agree with previous comments. Its way too many kids in a class and the students arent challenged enough. I compare home work with other school of my friends kids and they are doing more. At St. A's I find the the cirriculum is mediocre. I expected more. 35 kids in a class....insane!

35 students for Kindergarten...INSANE This is the first aspect of poor quality education. Poor choice for educational institution.

Class capacity way too high especially for tuition based school. Another aspect in the greed of the Archdiocese.
