My first year experience with the 8th grade faculty and staff was overall positive. Teachers were friendly and respectful. Administrators were engaging and keep parents informed of all school happenings. Learning content was diverse and engaging with a new cooking class which taught the kids important kitchen safety and meal prep. Several field trips throughout the school year which enriched the learning experience.

This school is absolutely awful. First of all, the school is quite literally falling apart, with the roof having parts missing out of it. Second, administration doesn't do anything to ensure your child is safe from bullying or anything else, and even blames the victim. The principal is extremely biased when it comes to situations involving her and ends up shaming the wrong people without getting any information on what happened. Third, there's no instruction here with the teachers and the students, with the teachers not telling students which assignments they have to turn in or being flat out rude when asked for help. There's little to no preparation for tests, and the teachers don't make sure the students understand the material before a summative that's worth 25% or more of their grade, and instead just blame the students. I don't recommend sending your child here if you want them to excel or graduate middle school with their mental health intact.

The teachers are basically incompetent and the administration is no better. They keep teachers that are awful because they are too hard to replace. Students need to look in 3 different places to make sure they are up to date on all of their work, extremely disorganized and zero communication from teachers.

In my opinion, complaints from parents at Pelham Memorial School are greater than any other school in the Pelham school district. Parents say “you just need to get them through the middle school unscathed.”. This is not an easy task with a tired administration, with little to no compassion for their student body. We recently voted to upgrade the school, but it would have been more beneficial if we decided not bring our old principal back from retirement, and hire a less than competent Athletic Director as our new Vice Principle. The culture is the culprit, and the faculty needs an overhaul.

Stay away from this school if you can. Any other school would be better. The principal is not good at her job. The school is falling apart. The teachers talk about the students in ways that aren't so nice.

If you have a child with even mild special needs this is not the place for them. The administration there is either incompetent or simply doesn't care about the children. It's very hard to tell which because they are completely unbending in any regard to help. I've only seen that with incompetent people in the past. Usually if they know what they're doing they try to change some things and improve. Instead, they simply repeat the same steps over and over again and like robots express they will 'continue doing a good job'. The administration should be completely replaced with a fresh team who are not miserable in their position and simply collecting a pay check. I suggest during the interview process to find enthusiastic people who wish to make a positive difference in a child's life.

The teachers at this school are well below average. There is poor leadership. I would not recomend this school to anyone

Facilities are undersized, poorly organized, poorly maintained, and lacking many amenities. The teaching staff and administration does what they can with what they have, but that isn't saying much. The staff is just average in a facility that is below average, which makes for a pretty poor learning environment.

Very caring staff and teachers. I wouldn't want to send my children to any other school!
