I am so impressed with the tone of the athletics department and sports teams at PCS. The coaches are focused, practices are intentional, and the teams are competitive and skills-based. However, the focus presented to the kids is always trying their best and ultimately just having fun. There is not big pressure on kids to perform or social emotional worries when things go wrong. Team spirit, kindness, and personal growth is the foundation of all activities - I see this in team selection, practice expectations, who plays in the games, and celebrations.

We have two kids currently at PCS and it has been one of the best decisions we have made for them. They have a great student to teacher ratio (between 14-20 kids) with 2 adults in the classroom. This was one of the main reasons we chose the private school route versus public. We just knew our kids needed the small group environment. We also love the diversity. Both our kids' classroom is so diverse. People come from very different SES backgrounds, moreso than other private schools since they provide financial aid and scholarships to people in the local community. I want to say almost everyone in my kids' classrooms identify as a different ethnicity. At most private schools, it's very easy to tell which race dominates the study body, but at PCS you cannot pinpoint a single race/ethnicity. As a person of color, our family has felt so welcomed. Our kids are high achieving, and we noticed that the teachers do a good job breaking up the classroom into smaller groups so that lessons can be adjusted to each child's level. We like that the school isn't so intense about testing since they aren't required to state test until a bit later, learning is not just to test well. It's very intentional, engaging, and fun (according to our kids). The classrooms are orderly, and kids spent a lot of time learning. All of the teachers from Kinder to second grade have been so warm, structured, and wonderful. Most of the teachers and admin staff we have met have been at the school for many decades, really great teacher retention and culture. The admin is highly organized and they've truly worked out all the kinks. We've tried summer programs at the top tier neighborhood schools in Pasadena, the disorganization and poor communication made us realize how good we have it at PCS. They answer questions before we have to ask about anything that's happening at school. We love how much exposure the kids get at the computer lab at a young age, reading, high quality art curriculum, programming, public speaking (they start the kids very young to get practice), sports (basketball is big here), musical/theatre, and after school programs (robotics, art, hip pop dance, chess, science, etc) for families who need it. They also have a reputable orchestra where kids can take private lessons in their choice of instrument. It's such a a great school. I'm surprised more people don't know about it. Highly recommend!!

We have been part of the Pasadena Christian community for the past nine years and have three children who attend there now. The school provides a supportive environment with teachers who genuinely care about the students and are very involved in all aspects of the school. We have found the community to be welcoming, diverse, and have enjoyed getting to know all the families. The class sizes are small, and our children have thrived while participating in numerous extracurricular activities such as; guitar lessons, soccer, flag football, basketball, and the annual musical.

The primary mission of Pasadena Christian School is "To provide its students with the academic training and spiritual nurture needed to become men and women who are worthy representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ."German education expert Karl Jaspers once said: "Education is a tree shaking another tree, a cloud nudging another cloud, a soul awakening another soul."Finding the right school in the U.S. for our daughter was no easy task, especially coming from another country. From Admission Director to faculty and staff, PCS has been extremely easy to work with and helpful. Special thanks to:Mrs. St. Peter,Mrs. Smiths,Dr. Gray,Mrs. Tcharkhoutian,Mrs. Batterbee,Mr. Pepe,Mrs. Pino,Ms. Cabel and many more.Their initiative and dedication to God, Country, and School, reflected credit upon themselves and are in keeping with the highest standers of the educators and worthy representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a PCS alumnus and now a parent of 3 who attend the school since preschool, I highly recommend this school. As a former student, I have wonderful memories and have maintained contact with many of my classmates from my 8 years there. I remember learning how to sing, my first steps into public speaking, and great teachers who loved and protected me. As a parent now, I can say that I continue to feel this way about PCS as do my children. The teachers truly care for the students, and the small classroom sizes allow for one-to-one attention when needed. The school orchestra is wonderful, and the after-school program and staff are great for the kids to engage in enrichment programs and play games with their friends as well as get help with homework.

We have 2 children at PCS who started in Kindergarten and TK. This is our 4th year being part of the PCS school community. We have loved all the teachers, who are very supportive and caring. In addition to challenging the children academically, they truly focus on the social-emotional skills, faith based values and learning in a safe, supportive environment. The Administration and Staff are always helpful and responsive. We value all the extra programs offered by PCS as well, such as art, music, drama, sports, school performances, special events, after-school care, etc. As with any school, parental involvement is crucial. We are a very involved family and notice a high degree of participation from a majority of other student families as well. We have enjoyed the friendships among other parents of our children. Overall, we feel Pasadena Christian is a gem among all the other private school options in the area.

They will deny this. The school has a great math teacher. Under their new leadership the grounding curriculum seems piece Rocky. The school is not inclusive to people of color. They tend to be passive aggressive in dealing with any concerns or issues towards people of color. I had a traumatic experience when it came to assigning my child in the right classes. This was some time ago I experienced this.

Being a part of this community has been such a tremendous blessing. The teachers truly know and care about your child. The education they receive is amazing and engaging. The community is not too small, but not big either, and provides better diversity than most private schools.

Pasadena Christian School is such a wonderful environment for young minds who are growing and young hearts who are learning the values of compassion and love. The teachers and staff at this school truly care for the well-being and enrichment of the students and it shows everyday by the daily reports I receive back from my children, they love it here. Moreover, the foundation of the Christian faith and basic teachings is fully integrated into their daily routine at school and has created a great curiosity to get to know more about God.

Very safe, very caring staff. Everyone, from the administration to the teachers to the after school folks and custodian, really care about the children. If you’re looking for a place that is warm and nurturing, this is it!

My daughter graduated last year and my son is in sixth grade. PCS has been a blessing to our family. Excellent teachers who support the academic and spiritual growth of children. The best investment of our lives for the future of our children.

Our family has been with Pasadena Christian going on 5 years now, having our first child start in their preschool and transition to elementary (Which they do so well and a huge reason to consider starting pre-k with them!). The preschool have such warm and devoted staff and seeing how well our son thrived his years there, we were excited to have our second child start the preschool this year- even in the midst of Covid. Both the Pasadena Christian and the preschool have remained very communicative throughout navigating 2020 and into this year regarding all protocols that they have put into place while working with the health department to ensure a thriving and safe environment for the kids and staff. One thing a really appreciate is the close reach you have the administration and of course teachers, especially when both parents and school admin are navigating such new scenarios. You really feel very closely connected to them and you can see the devotion and attention they apply to all the kids. You won't ever feel like just another number, but they have built a true community. When the school opened back up for in person learning, my 1st grader obviously had a lot of nerves assimilating back onto campus, but I picked up a boy with a huge smile after that first day, and this is really the best review I could give as a reflection to the learning environment they have fostered. Has he excelled academically - absolutely. I have seen significant growth in is maturity, academic application, reading etc. but to see him happy and thriving is one of the greatest rewards. I would recommend this preschool and school.

We have had our children attend both the preschool and the TK-8 school for the past 6 years and have been very pleased with not only the type of education they receive, but the strong Christian values that are embedded throughout the campus and learning. The administration, teachers, and support staff have done a great job especially during these challenging times that we have experienced COVID. From distance learning to in person learning, they seem to always find ways to improve in supporting the parents and students. Highly recommend.

Our child has been at the school since kindergarten. He is about to complete the third grade. We love love LOVE this school. I don't know where the find these wonderful staff and teachers, but they are loving, dedicated and skilled at what they do. The kids have fun while learning and being prepared for admission to the best secondary schools in the area. Things I especially value are the emphasis on public speaking from a young age. The music program is also amazing. Barbara Allen, the director of this program, brings great creativity and fun and manages to coax fabulous performances out of dozens of little squirrelly kids. The after school program is great, affordable and beloved by the kids. The school has tremendous diversity - racial, ethnic and socioeconomic. This is doubtless due to the school's commitment to maintaining an affordable tuition, which allows the school to include a wide spectrum of families. I have met great families here -- unpretentious, compassionate, and just all around great people. This school is a treasure!

We moved our children to Pasadena Christian (from another local, private school) last year and have been very happy with our decision. PCS not only offers an excellent education, but does so in a caring, Christian environment. The staff are wonderful, including both administrators and teachers. We are so glad we took the leap and chose to move to PCS. I would highly recommend it to others too!

This is the first year at PCS for my son. He is now in the third grade. We couldn't be happier sending our son here. The teachers and staff, and I mean every single one, are some of the nicest and caring people I've ever met. My son is excited to go to school every day. The school is completely gated so I know my son and his schoolmates are safe. My wife and I are so happy that we've found PCS.

Our two children attended Pasadena Christian School (PCS) from pre-school through 8th grade. PCS provided them with a solid educational foundation which enabled them to be accepted and succeed at the most challenging high schools. PCS provided a safe, loving and caring environment for them to grow up in. They have a great after school program which is a necessity for working parents. PCS also provided many opportunities for our children to experience art, music, computers, being a part of an athletic team, community service and the world outside of PCS through field trips--the 8th graders take an amazing 10 day trip to the East Coast. The school is constantly looking for ways to improve things (curriculum, facilities etc.) and the Parent Teacher Fellowship (ie. PTA) provides fun family events to bring school families together (ie. Fall Festival and Christmas Breakfast). Our children and family have truly been blessed by PCS. We highly recommend it!!!

PCS is more than just academic. They focus on growing our child to be a well rounded, kind-hearted, and thoughtful person that will benefit the world around him with his character. They are Christ-centered in such a way that teaches our son how to incorporate God's grace, love, and discipline in the real world. I know that my child will experience the myriad of challenges that come naturally in childhood, but I am glad that PCS provides a nurturing and safe environment for him to thrive and learn. I know life long friendships are being formed. Not only between the children, but with the wonderful parents as well. PCS is not perfect (they will even tell you that), but they are always striving to do better and are serious about making a lasting investment in our son. The admin staff are kind, understanding and available. The teachers are caring and the ratios very low. The music, PE, Art, and instrumental music programs are stellar. Our son loves going to school every day!

Like most parents, we toured all the best local schools in search of finding the right fit. Despite all the great choices to select from, Pasadena Christian School (PCS) always remained top of mind not just because of the outstanding academic programs offered, but because of the way they made us feel. PCS was the first to respond with an invitation to attend the preschool. It s been three years since we officially joined the PCS family and we couldn t be happier. Our daughter continues to grow and thrive in this special environment which compliments and supports our faith. We continue to be impressed by how much she's learned. Our teachers are skilled at using unconventional means to teach. There are lessons to be learned in the garden, on stage and even from repurposed card board boxes. This approach to teaching has worked for our daughter. We appreciate that our daughter is not just a number on the student roster. Many of the teachers know her by name, even our principles. Every morning, our daughter is greeted with a smile. Every morning reminds us of their promise to partner with us, and help her fulfill her unique plan and purpose. We've chosen wisely.

I found Pasadena Christian (PCS) to be a blessing to my family. We had come from a small town and were so concerned about our childrens safety and well-being but PCS put our fears to rest. My children are well-rounded individuals with wonderful memories of friends, teachers and activities.
