Our family had a great experience at Laguna Vista! Each of our children had amazing teachers at every grade level.

Really tried to give this school the benefit of the doubt when we moved here. 2nd grade went well my child had an amazing teacher Mrs. Sasaki, but it when downhill from there. Looking at the great schools rating I wasn't expecting amazing performance academically and have always focused on learning at home. But I did expect a certain level of safety. My son is your average kid, never has had difficulty making friends or anything. He was ruthlessly bullied at this school and no one cared. He was bullied to the extent where he thought about self harm as a fourth grader and it was heartbreaking. He felt helpless and alone, he stop telling on the kids who where physically harming him because nothing was getting done and tried to take matters into his own hands. He came home with bruises on his ribs from a gang of children kicking him on the playground. After attending counseling sessions and discovered what really had been going on we transferred him schools mid year and he has thrived ever since. Please be weary of your children going here. Mine is not the first and will not be the last to leave this school due to complete lack of supervision and care. Safety of children should be any schools top priority, it is not at Laguna Vista.

Special education department is awful. Superintendent does not support the families of students with special education and the team does not accurately inform families of what services are offered. Professionals are defensive and work non-collboratively

We have been at Laguna Vista for a couple of years and are very unhappy with what the kids are experiencing. A lot of bullying, "fighting clubs" as my kids call them, unmanageable class sizes, and it is a hit or miss with the teachers. We are trying to get into another school district.

Students need to be taught according to their grade level not on the pace of the students attending the class. My daughter was bored of her class because everything was too easy for her.

The teachers here are damage controllers instead of educators. Not only are they under-equipped for teaching the varying degrees of academic and emotional development in their classes but the children who attend seem to have parents who either do not care or encourage disrespectful behavior.

This school has teachers who decide that your child needs to be on medicines for ADD if your child does not make fast progress even in kindergarten. They do not offer to test your child. They take no responsibility for their failure to teach. Children are told they are doing poorly by their teachers.

my child is 3 and in the pre-school class. all the teachers in 101 n 102 r outstanding and i have volunteered a few times and have seem first hand how hard they work to provide a caring warm safe and educational environment. its never easy with kids this age and they do a great job. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking. we r a military family and my child was previously attending a Montessori but it became too expensive for us. I was a little concerned about the difference in the teaching method since we preferred the montessori way but its been great so far. Teacher Sally and her crew are amazing! i don't know the principal at all so i didnt want to give her a 5 or 1 star so i went for 3 stars.
