My children have been students at this school for a few years with my oldest child getting ready to go off to college we of course have started looking into other curriculums. This is when I find out that most of the students who graduate from Owen county high School are not even college ready students! What are they teaching our children if they're not college ready by the time they graduate? Since covid has started my child has been slammed with work but 60% of it is nonsense work I tutor as well and high School child was sent the same school work that I was teaching a child that I tutor who is in the third grade! It is just ridiculous! Owen county is far from poor they need to spend the money on academics rather than other things!

I think Owen County High School does an excellent job for its students given it is a small, poor, rural school. The staff and faculty care a great deal for their students and the community and this pervades everything they do.

Overall, this is not a good school. There is little respect for teacher and property. Students are mostly allowed to do whatever they want, especially athletes. I'd say about 90% of the students in the school will not do anything with their lives and not even attend college. There needs to be serious changes done or else its only going to get worse from here.
