I have been attending the school for three years, and my overall experience has been awful. The staff do a horrible job of recognizing bullying and harassment, which is a huge issue at the school. The staff act as if it isn't an issue, when it really is. If you are a POC, LGBTQ+, have a mental disorder, or disability, the students want absolutely nothing to do with you. From my three year experience, students who are openly LGBTQ+ are harassed, and seen as less compared to the students who are not LGBTQ+. Students who are transgender and non-binary are purposely misgendered and harassed by students. Students with disabilities are treated like pets by both students and teachers, only being referred to using 'baby talk' and words such as 'buddy', or just plain bullied by students. When any of it is brought up to staff, they either ignore it, or claim none of it even happened. A very small amount of the staff are helpful. Most of the staff do not address the problems, and only add onto it. Students who dress 'alternatively' are often sexualized by staff, and seen as 'suspicious' when they haven't done anything wrong. Teachers and staff are strict about the dress code for females, but completely ignore the males. Although I would never recommend this school, the school counselor, 7th grade math teacher, choir teacher, and library staff are very nice.

Our family has had teenagers attending this middle school for the past thirteen years. We are grateful for the excellent preparation they received for high school. As indicated by their state testing, the leadership and teachers continue to pursue best practices for all students regardless of their background! Our family is grateful to have Traeger Middle as part of our village to raise our kids.
