- Submitted by parent on March 10, 2022West Oaks Academy is a true gem in the rough. Looks are deceiving. We recently moved from Jacksonville, Florida, and my son came from high prestigious schools and West Oaks has been a blessing. My son is a straight A student, and he is thriving and getting better every day. We got a very warm welcome from Mr. White, who made my son feel at home. He prepared all the admission paperwork and made sure my son transition went well. I have been impressed with all the staff, from the principal to the teachers and coaches. You can see the dedication in some the staff who go above and beyond the call of duty. I had no car when we first came but my son was given a ride by a beautiful couple for several months. The same couple are both teachers and basketball coaches and I wonder when they get rest since they are always there supporting our children's future.I am learning to be silent when I have nothing good to say. I heard an inspiring story of how the school gave a second chance to a student who was suspended. That student life turned around for the better and was able to graduate because of the second chance. There is no one perfect on this planet but when you find people who go above and beyond their job description, be appreciative. I am blessed that my son is at a school where he can learn, excell and achieve success for his future. Kudos to West Oaks Academy!
