My children are in kinder and 1st grade. We absolutely LOVE being apart of Mill St. school. Mr. Hess, our principal, is truly all about what's best for the kids! He is a great leader. So far, I've had wonderful encounters with all the teachers, specifically, Mrs. Langan and Mrs. Colletti. My children have learned so much academically, but they're also learning to be "bucket Fillers" and applying healthy ways to deal with big emotions- which the school staff are amazing about emphasizing in a positive manner! Absolutely recommend

With 2 children attending this school, I have experienced the greatness of the staff in how they care for the kiddos. They have gone above and beyond to meet the needs of my children through the many resources they provide. Many accommodations have been made also to adapt to my children and their needs. They have assisted me many times in the parental aspect of schooling. I appreciate them far more than words could say.

I really like that the principal is always interacting with the children and parents. I like the school motto, that I implemented in my home too. The teachers are great!

My children have loved this school. I have no complaints and have loved the great teachers my children have had. I can not express how happy and thankful I am that this school has a Dual Immersion program the teachers have done a great job. The office staff has been very kind and helpful. I like how Mr. Hess goes out and chats with families during morning and afternoon pick ups. I can see the love and dedication the aides have for all the kiddos. I feel safe leaving my children at school knowing all gates get closed once class starts.

Mill Street School has the best teachers and a Great Principal. They truly help out all their students as best as possible and offer as many resources needed if a student is falling behind, they are also flexible to parent's available hours when needed to meet or arrange a meeting to improve their child's education.

My children hesitate waking up but not about attending class. They enjoy their classmates and their teachers. They have fun doing activities at school. They have a variety of school supplies that they send home as well in class. Through out the year, before the pandemic , Mill Street host multiple events where the family can attend to get to know the community. All the teachers, that my children have had, are all amazing. In my opinion, I have seen them try to do the best that they can do. Would I love it if they gave more attention to my kids ? Yes I would but I’m realistic and I know my kids aren’t the only ones in their class. I have little knowledge but I know they follow the state curriculum, so I do my best to help my kids stay focused in class and practice with them at home. If there is ever any issue it’s important to take it up with the board of education as well and not just with the teachers. We as parents and care givers need to put in time as well so our children can succeed.

The TEACHERS at Mill Street are amazing! They go above and beyond to make sure their students’ needs are being met and that they’re being engaged and are learning especially during this crazy school year. One complaint I have is the lack of accessibility to the principal, Mr. Hess. He doesn’t return phone calls or emails in a timely manner and he definitely plays favorites with which parents and populations he talks to and which he chooses to ignore. It should never take more than 24 hours to return a parent’s phone call or email. I have sent emails in the past that have never been returned. The office staff could also be friendlier. They answer the phones unprofessionally and are not the most pleasant people to deal with. They seem extremely bothered and annoyed when you call with a question or concern. Overall, I think Mill Street is an amazing school, but I do believe the office staff and principal can do better.

This is my sons first year at Mill Street. He enjoys it very much and if I have any questions or concerns the staff is quick to help. The layout of the school is perfect and I am so happy to have my kid go to a school I know he will be safe at.

My daughter attended this school for almost a year. In that year she was bullied multi times, where the teacher/yard duty/principle where aware and did nothing. No action was taken against anyone, and it continued. We had meetings. On top of that my daughter had a speech problem where she said words in an odd way, there were constantly bothering me about speech therapy. Yet when I gave in, they never followed up! They acted as if my daughter was disabled. She was in class of 26 kids to one teacher, she fell so behind that by the end of the year (keep in mind I read with her everyday since birth & give here a workbook I work with her everyday) she still couldn’t count well to 25 let alone 100 or spell her name or remember her alphabet. It became clear to me either school was terrible or she had a learning disability which was being ignored. On top of all of this, she was getting the flu constantly! We have a clean home, and my daughter never got sick before but in 1 year she had missed loads of school from having fevers, even vomiting, I complained multiple times, so many kids at school very clearly ill, they need to be cleaner and have strict sick kid rules, to avoid constant spread of disease. So I had enough and pulled her, we have since discovered she does have a learning disability and in less than a year of just myself working with her she speaks completely “normally” the school made it seem as if she was doomed. I’ve spend the last year getting her re educated at a kindergarten level because she was so behind! I was very involved, stay at home mom, and thank god I am because otherwise I may have not seen just how bad her education level was not the bullying she was experiencing. The school was useless.

So far we have had no issues with the school. My son loves his teacher and for us that is a big deal.
