I was jumping from one school to another until I came to this school. I have been at this school since 2009 and I'm not changing again! All the teachers and staff are wonderful and loving. They are passionate about what they do. My son enjoys being there and has made tremendous improvements. One way is by they teach in which a child can learn at their own pace and have fun while learning. It's not all about test taking and homework! Another way is by teaching in a one-on-one environment. I wouldn't recommend anything else for these kids. He also learns life skills which is so important. I wish I had learned in school. For example, they set up a store in the school to where they learned to buy things and give back the correct change. My son has done a lot of science projects, field trips and fun activities, like zumba, with other students where this helps with his socialization skills. The school is very clean and the tuition is very reasonable. To sum it up, I would recommend this school to anyone with a special needs child!

This school shows a lot of care and interest in each individual student. The one on one works, you can see how far each student advances. The best part to me is, the cost is affordable for the average working parent. My grandson has attended there for 5 years, and you can see where his scholarship is going, with all the activities, field trips, projects and curriculum.

I can not warn you strongly enough to avoid this so called "school for autism". They made us transfer our children there on the Oct deadline for McKay but they could not start there until the check arrived 2 weeks later. We were also told we could hire and fire teachers at will. They started school on check day. Attended for 4 hours then the next day they called us to come pick up our autistic son 1 hour after dropping him off because the teacher couldn't handle him, when I asked when could I interview a new teacher, they told us they couldn't handle a child with autism. Prior to starting school they told us what medication he should be taking, what food he should be eating, how we should not physically play with him or pick him up and hug him when he cries. I believe they just can't handle a parent who is not a puppet and will do what THEY think is best. They pay their teachers $10 an hour and their tuition is $3800. They only offer 4 days a week 4 hours a day. Where is the 11,500 in McKay going? Tuition plus teacher pay comes to 8920. Talk about a great way to rip off the parents, the teachers, the state and sadly the children.

Pretty sure my review didn't go through so here. This school talked a good game to my wife and I, but once they got our sons' McKay scholarship Check's it was "your autistic son isn't right for a school for autistic kids". They played this US Navy Veteran real good I be sure to do everything in my power to get them on the Navy's Ban list. And please read the first post carefully that's not a parent its the school. That's some stuff they would do.

Our family loves this school. The G.I.F.Ted Learning Center provides a wonderful environment that allows special needs children to learn in a unique and fun way. The school tailors the program to suit each individual child. The social skills that the students learn on fieldtrips are amazing. My child has learned so much this year by being in The G.I.F.ted Learning Center. The staff provides unwavering support for both the student and the family. The children and the families in this school are a great group of people. My child can't wait to go back to school. A+ all the way!
