I'm giving it 5 stars despite everything since this school is very good for a public high school when it comes to academics. If you're looking for a public school that will help your child get into an amazing college this is the high school to go to. But with success also comes sacrifices. I went to an amazing college after going to Millard North but honestly that high school gives me flashbacks to some of the worst years of my life. For one, this school is not very progressive, like at all. The environment is harmful for students of color, lgbtq+, and even women because the sexism is quite visible in stem classes. Not to mention, the school also now has political clubs such as the "Millard North Republicans" which enable problematic students and creates a more hostile environment. I was severely bullied and isolated by many of my classmates throughout my later years of high school, specifically in the IB program, which by the way is absolutely useless. The school has major issues with class too, you will most likely not feel very welcome here as a low income student. The school is not helping for providing accommodations for students with disabilities such as ADHD because quite frankly a lot of the teachers are in a sense, ableist. Lastly, some of the teachers can make you feel unsafe. Don't stay alone with a teacher in any classroom and make sure to bring a classmate with you for afterschool help. Honestly its up to you to pick your poison, if you end up attending my advice would just be to really focus on your academics, and to choose activities that you are passionate about or interested in, avoid drama and try your best to hang on those 4 yrs.

My family had two kids go through MN and they both loved it. Great teachers, great college prep. My son thinks college is easier than MN was. He was so prepared for college.

I was a student freshman and sophomore until covid. My counselor had no intention of helping me succeed. Jodi Therkelsen was the worst counselor I have ever had in all my years of school. And to know she still “counsels” kids truly irks me. She had her children go to school there and they walked into the office whenever they felt like it, to retrieve some snacks and drinks while students were in session with her. As soon as I realized she was not for my best interest, I switched to Rachel Vacek who was very understanding and wanted to help me. Jodi if you see this, please quit. You were the banana peel on top of the trashcan. About 20% of my teachers (in my opinion) wanted to help me and wanted me to learn, everyone else, well, didn’t seem keen on educating and helping kids. I hope this review sheds light onto kids who have her as a counselor and maybe consider switching counselors if they feel the need to. Other than the terrible teachers I’ve had to interact with, I truly do believe the material being taught there is good, and the environment is OK. Love and hearts <3

My kid is a minority attending the school and he has dealt with ongoing issues of bullying and the administration has practically endorsed it by punishing my kid's negative reaction to racial slurs much harsher than the instigators. It's been an ongoing frustration and it makes my son want to avoid school.

Best school in town, hands down. I have graduate level education. I am not sure how MN can score 5/10. As a highly mathematical professional, something is wrong. Great teachers, fantastic music program.

All 3 of my children attended MNHS. It was an outstanding school and they each thrived there. I heard more than once that the curriculum at MNHS more than prepared them for college - in fact they started college the equivalent of sophomores with the AP and IB classes taken. Best high school in Nebraska, hands down.

My step daughter got a great education at Millard North. The teachers were very involved and caring.

Being a student myself, I found MN an amazing school to attend. I loved my teachers, my counselor, and there was always some fun activities to participate in! It was a great experience and I am really glad that went to Millard North! I liked having a large class because it meant that you got to meet new people in every class, every year!

I give this school 3 stars for only a few reasons. The teachers are fantastic! My guidance counselor saved my life in many ways. The challenges offered here were great and you were given a chance to succeed if you had the will to do so. Overall I spent some of my best years here and made some life long friends. However.... I watched as many students were falling through the cracks. Students with bad attitudes, drug problems, bullies, and lack of respect for other students and staff members were ignored. I was different growing up. I rebelled. I had a lot of friends but I was constantly bullied and little if anything was done by the school. I was taunted, jumped by other students to the point of injury and being bloodied. Yes these students were usually the "preppies" or rich kids. Usually a minor punishment or none was given. Being different I was usually guilty before I even had a chance to speak. I just hope things have changed since then. It didn't affect my life permanently but I remember many times being scared to go to school. I hope things have changed there a bit as it has been 10 plus years since I attended. Overall I received an excellent education there. Nuff said.
