All three of my children graduated from Olathe East and all had great experiences. They all graduated with significant college credit which allowed them to save $$ on college costs. There appear to be one or two reviews here which represent outlier experiences.

While I graduated from Olathe East several years ago, the teachers and atmosphere were exceptional. It was in many respects like a private school in terms of the quality of the education, but without the major financial costs. I’m still thankful to all the teachers who prepared me well for college and medical school. I feel like everyone there was down to earth and accepting. I neither experienced nor saw any bullying (despite being a quiet, late bloomer) during my time there, which is pretty rare in this day and age for any school in the country. The student resource officer at the time was fully engaged with students and safety was always a top priority. I would absolutely rate this a 10/10 in educational quality, sports offerings, and other intangibles that foster a positive learning environment. It is well-deserving of its national Blue Ribbon status. Its foreign tlanguage programs are special stand-outs. I never felt that I had unnecessary hours of after-school homework involving busy work/low-yield learning. I feel that your child will have every opportunity for future success at Olathe East. Again, I would rate it 10/10 across the board.

As a Pediatrician, it is my opinion that this school offers every possible chance for a student to learn and succeed.

The Olathe School District has lots of different opportunities for the kids to succeed.

This school is terrible and I would never put my kids through it. I believe they need to take a hard look at the system they have right now and change it. There is too much bullying and drugs at this school and it has lead some students to depression and even suicide. We need better leaders.

Great school if you are wealthy or into sports. Other than conferences, VERY POOR communication with parents when students are struggling.Half of two years has been a huge disappointment for the alleged reputation this school has. Huge. Some teachers need to be reminded they are there to educate not just to gather a paycheck or be on a power trip. A few teachers are flat out mean and act immature towards students. It ruins it for the great teachers at this school, that obviously are devoted. A teacher's attitude comes home with the students. They talk about the good and the bad.
