Both of my children have attended this school since pre school and kindergarten and the teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to help support my children and our family! This is by far the best school that I could have brought my kids to. The principal Mr. Macomber is a very kind man, and I have never had any issues with any of the staff. The counselors are wonderful and Ms. Wickens has made a major impact on my childrens life’s and I couldn’t be more grateful for her. I wish they could stay in Olalla until they graduate.

Poor Olalla Elementary just isn’t what it used to be. If the leadership ever changes hands, there may be hope. But until then…. I recommend one of the other local elementary schools in SKSD.

I would give this school and complete falling grade. Many of these teacher care about a pay check or how they look, rather than the child’s best interest. Teachers and staff need more schooling and training.

This is my daughter's second year attending olalla elementry and I have to say this is my favorite school she has attended. We have moved and she has gone to 3other schools and they do not compare to the staff at olalla. The teachers and even office ladies care about her well being and education. They are very helpful and I appreciate how nice, just like honestly nice people no fake acts. My daughter loves both her teachers she has and has, and her music teacher she loves! Always has a great time at pe and library. They have opened up the field and made great changes in just the year my daughter went with recess. I so appreciate the staff and love the activities they have for the kids during the holidays and in between. Thank you!

This he myis my son's first year at Olalla (1st grade). Last year we were in nearby Peninsula SD, which had a higher tax base, and I was worried about how lack of funds would impact his education. My fears were unfounded. He has a good, caring teacher who promptly replies to calls or notes, who clearly loves her job. My only complaints are minor: the office was very disorganized at the beginning of the year and there was some minor confusion; the younger students are unable to bring home library materials, although this was probably due to high rates of loss or theft; and the sports fields were off-limits to 1st graders during recess (although I believed they recently changed this insane policy. It probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but my son did not like the single play structure they were allowed to use, so he sat on the benches during recess while there was a field and sports equipment available that he couldn't use.

I love love love this school. Teachers are amazing! Smaller classrooms than most schools nearby! Music PE librarian are also amazing Friendly caring office staff Kind principle who is actively trying to get to know each kid Organized parent pickup drop off area separate from bus area Volunteers are always welcome with a background check Office is right in front and they are very good about not letting anyone beyond that point during school hours without checking in! Makes me feel much safer not having to worry about kids at school with people wandering around.
