I have loved each interaction with administrators, teachers and students. I have been very impressed by the progress shown here over the past few years!

Both of our sons had great experiences at Roosevelt. The music program is top notch, the Artful Learning teaching is brilliant, the visual arts classes are awesome. We look forward to next year's new electives: STEAM, theater arts, Industrial Arts Design Lab (aka shop class!). They also offer photography, digital arts, AVID and an advanced math class for high achievers. The teachers and principals are fantastic, and we feel we are part of a family at Roosevelt, with plenty of opportunities to get involved as parents. There is a real feeling of respect on campus for kids and adults.

Roosevelt has a stellar band, chorus and art program. Mys son is doing great and has made many new friends in his first year. Principal Heather Golly really knows how to communicate with the kids and she is a great leader for RMS. The community outreach is the best as well! Community liaison Gabriela Thompson has many programs for parents and students (learning computer skills, book club, sewing club...).

This is an excellent Middle School. My daughter and son attended Roosevelt. The teachers were personally interested in their success and were always quick to communicate if I had questions or concerns. Homework was hard but it kept them focused on learning. Building the marble roller coaster for science was a great experience for my son. The teachers were positive but held them accountable for their actions. My son was in Band and my daughter was in Chorus. They loved being able to perform with their friends. The P.E. teachers were great. My son didn't do well with his first P.E. teacher but he was put with another teacher and everything was fine after that. The after school sports opportunities were fantastic. My daughter played volleyball. Learning how to be part of a team and building character were the main focus. A great school indeed.

This is a well rounded middle school. They have great academics, including the best Spanish program for 8th grade students. Ms. Kinder is remarkable in her preparing her students for high school Spanish that no other middle school can accomplish. The only kids that take Spanish 2 ( and get Spanish 1 high school credit while in 8th grade) is at Roosevelt. They also have multiple special education programs, as well as an AVID program. What sets Roosevelt apart from the other middle schools is the renowned Band and Choral program. Mr. Gammie's students sound like a high school band. It's amazing. My student has learned so much from his program. Most kids leave accomplished musicians. The choral program, led by Ms. Taylor, is also amazing. You'd think you were listening to a professional chorus. Another activity that sets RMS apart is the Heritage day for the 8th graders. Boys and girls dress up in Colonial garb and dance the waltz, two step, Texas 2 step, and Virgina Wheel. This last event was just an amazing highlight for my 8th grader. There are many sports, clubs, at RMS for your student to join too. I feel my student is more than prepared for high school thanks to Roosevelt Middle School

This school is very bad, the students have no respect for others or the teachers! I myself am a student in 7th grade and I have witnessed a majority of bullying and self harm. All of these so called pretty girls bully other girls and say the worst possible things to them. The principal needs to enforce the rules at our school. The girls dress inappropriately with their stomachs hanging out and you can see their under garments, boys sag their pants and say a lot of sexual and inappropriate things to students. Someone has to stop this!

Last year my son had issues with bullies. 2 of his teachers told him and us that he was being overly sensitive. I actually ran into the bullies parents this summer and resolved everything. But only after deciding to home-school our son. He asked to possibly go back to this school. After today that will not happen. Parent portal does not work. We had to bypass it to register our older sons in high school. I went to Roosevelt to try and do the same thing. NOPE they refuse. The office secretary asked for my email passwords to make sure I wasn't getting the verification for parent portal. I showed her on my phone that it wasn't in my spam or inbox. Not just the app on my phone but the browser as well. She insisted I didn't know how to check my email and if I wasn't willing to give her my password I must be hiding something. Yes, I am hiding my password from a stranger. Classical Academy here we come.

This is a pretty good school in itself. The teachers are not. I had a great 6th grade math and science teacher but the rest were horrid. the principals aren't very involved. The after school programs aren't good either. The Pe is stupid all together. way to much running and my pe teacher called me fat. There was a lot of bullying and mexican gangs. The food was unhealthy and gross. There was way to much homework that stressed me out and gave me anxiety attacks. The library and librarian is spot on. I am now a 7th grader and know all this. I hope they improve soon or else.

Great music program, some of the staff are gems. The only, and biggest problem I believe at this school is their organization. There is none. No fliers go out, and people have to hound the staff about what is going on. No one ever had a school schedule of any sort that was legitimate, especially not the website. Because of the lack of communication, I almost didn't get to register at the high school that I wanted. Luckily, I have an amazing mother that helped me jump through hoops and I was able to get into the school of my choice. I got cheated out of my eighth grade yearbook photo and wasn't informed at all until I opened the yearbook myself and tried to find my name. Not only was I cheated out of this, but others that I knew were cheated too. I paid $45 dollars for a yearbook that I wasn't even in The worst part about all of this is, is that no one takes responsibility. The most of the staff just blew me off or blamed it on a person of higher command.

R.M.S. is an awesome school. I'm in 7th grade going there and its an exetremely good experience for a middle school as far as most books and movies may have us think about middle school. Most kids who start here immediatly find friends within their grade and are welcomed nicely into the school. I personally love the academics at our school. We have an AVID program, Band, Chorus, and for 8th graders, both Spanish and French classes.

All 3 of my kids attended RMS and my youngest is in her last year there. It is a great school! Perhaps once I had to make multiple contacts before meeting with a teacher, but then it was very productive. Teachers have a lot of demands, too many parents want the teacher's time to helicopter as they are overly invested in the bottom line grade their kid receives for the work the parent does. I've always found the teachers and principals to be available and receptive to concerns. Administration is wonderful, especially Kris in the front office. Our children are not all equal learners, yet we feel they have all received a great education at RMS.

This is my sons second year attending RMS, he did very well last year and is looking forward to another great year. The yearbook class is a great class for 7th and 8th grades to take if they do not join band or chorus. Last year he took half year art and half year computer. The school is known for their music program, but if your child is not interested in music, they have a great art teacher. My son drew amazing this year under her instruction!
