Poor. They don't have very good communication with the parents. When there is something going on at the school then all parents should be notified and they are not.

The principal at OES is also the district superintendent, and there are many parents and community members concerned that neither job is being performed satisfactorily. With two positions as important as these, both dealing with the education of our students, how can one person do them adequately? Another concern is truancy. It is up to the school principal to report truancy, yet it is not being done. There are several children who have missed more than the required amount of time to be classified as being truant!! Why isn't it being reported? Bullying, another issue. There is not nearly enough education provided to the students about this issue, and what policy there is concerning bullying is not enforced by the administration. Oberlin Elementary is lacking a proper head lice policy, there is not even a written policy for parents to review! The administration has made little effort to make changes to improve it, in fact they prefer to deny there is a problem. Head lice has been a major issue at this school for the last year and a half!!
