I went to this school almost four years back. From what I remember, this school was better than the school I'm in right now. The community and the school how I remember it was very tight knit and genuinely cared about parents. The rating has gone down from a 7/10 to a 5/10 which is disappointing. Truthfully, this school doesn't necessarily teach you all the things about math and social studies, but it does teach you real life skills. Which in my opinion is necessary for a growing child.

Terrible experience with this school lack of accountability lack of discipline lack of care and dedication nothing out of the few years my kid has attended that we’ve had a good time with any experience with a teacher classmate they don’t take bullying seriously or do a damn thing about it and don’t care about your kids safety or care where they go after school

My daughter went to this school. She has ADHD and did not get any support when she needed. Other teacher told me that she was harrased by her teacher in front of others. And the new principal treated my child like a handicap. Whatever incident happened to my daughter, this school blamed on her. The new principal is very unconcerned and not caring on minority, especially Asians. Not a good school for anyone!

Excellent school with fantastic teachers, staff, and administration. Excellent before and after school care program (SACC) and a huge variety of extracurricular activities before and after school. Atmosphere is friendly and diverse with tons of students speaking multiple languages and being highly engaged in their communities through philanthropy and volunteering. Very active PTA (so lots of sponsored activities for kids). AAP goes up to level III (basically, same content as in level IV centers, but kids pulled out of class for it). Highly recommend this school.

As a Veteran parent, I was very upset knowing the school doesn’t do anything special for the day, however, my sister and I went to this school and it’s one of the main reasons why I decided to buy my house in the Waples Mill School district.

All four of my children have attended or are currently attending Waples Mill and I have been consistently impressed by the teachers and the school in general.

I had a miserable experience here especially 5th and 6th grade. A lot of the teachers here have no idea what they are doing and it really impacted me in middle and high school when teachers had to catch us up because of our lack of knowledge especially in the subjects of reading and writing.

This school has the worst teachers possible. Just because their student are scoring high doesn't mean their teachers are doing their job. Sometime I feel their teachers want to ride the high rating of the school with no work. They will find every possible way not to work. Principle should re look at its staff, otherwise I've no doubt this school should be rated below at lowest level.

My child went to this school recently. My child was constantly harrassed by one of the teachers. First, I tried to not make it an issue. Then, the harrassment started happening in front of me and others. My child was coming home sick frequently. When I complained, the principle never returned my calls. The assistant principle down played to protect the teacher. Finally, I moved my child to a private school.

My child is 9 going in to 4th grade, arrived mid-year/foreign service family. *BE FOR WARNED THERE IS LIMITED BEFORE/AFTERSCHOOL CARE from this Elementary. It has constantly been a struggle to find a balanced option. I have been on the waitlist for SACC up to #80 and havent made it that far down the list -its been over 7 months. Winwood/(daycare's) have been nice for younger kids -older kids have a challenge, but the only other option is Martial Arts or a nanny. PTA offers programs but no transportation and limited hours.ABOUT THE SCHOOL: Nice public school. Had a few glitches with them registering emergency information and educational transition from overseas school with the teacher, but with time it worked out. The teacher actually spent quality time to help the children who needed it. When it came to end of year testing time (SOL)...ITS A BIG DEAL!! It seemed like crunch time for us. I fully recommend anyone who starts their child mid-year to get a tutor and work on what is needed for the SOL test in advance. Not much, if any, transition assistance (with academics or make a buddy program) for children who are coming from overseas schools.

My kids love going to school here! They do everything in their power to keep the children from falling behind in a caring attentive manner.

This school has some pros and cons like any other school. Programs are good but that all depends on the teacher. Some teachers are working their for so long, I feel like they hate their job. I think school should give them early retirement and welcome new faces.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarden and she's now in the 3rd grade. I have loved all of her teachers - they are very dedicated and take each student's needs to heart. My daughter was placed in the Advanced Academic Program and she has excelled. Class size is reasonable, content is far and away more challenging than I received in elementary school. A++ all around.

Too many phone calls to parents with insignificant problems. But when something serious happens, like several lice outbreaks, they give you a notice, but that's all. No separation of students, no removal of the student with the repeats incidents. Also too much parent involvement for this working mom.

We love this school!. Even though we moved house our one criteria was that we had to stay within the same Waples Mill area! Teachers are dedicated and hard working. The school is able to both challenge kids near the top of the class as well as give extra help to those needing it. School is well equipped and parental involvement is huge. Sometimes parent meetings/events can't fit in the cafeteria...!
