The biggest reason I love Edgewood is because it feels like a family, not just a school. The teachers and principal are wonderful...so are the other staff members (office staff, lunch staff, maintenance staff). Edgewood has the best PTO and they work hard to organize well-attended, fun, successful events. One concern I have is the amount of ciriculum that's jammed into each day's schedule. As a classroom volunteer, I've gotten to see firsthand why my child needs time to unwind after school. But, I'm assuming that's coming from the state-level. More time for lunch, gym and the classes that give the kids a break from textbooks (art, music) would help their learning tremendously. Another concern is the lack of staff diversity. For example, the school needs more male teachers. The lack of space/resources has been difficult for the teachers and students, so we're really excited to see the results of the redistricting this year! We love Edgewood and are thrilled to be staying here!!!!

Edgewood Elementary School has an active PTO and Principal. The school is centrally located. Majority of the teachers/staff have been at Edgewood for 9+ years. The school is all one level and is adjacent to playground, tennis courts, parks, and other recreational activities. It is near major attractions, city library, but far enough away for safety issues. It has separate pick-up and drop of areas for buses and parents.

The Edge Wood Elementary is a great school, I think that they can be eligible to win a sweepstake.
