Our child entered into Atkinson after spending the last few years in a semi-disrupted education as a result of the pandemic. They were behind in certain aspects. The teacher assured us that this was unfortunately common among a number of the younger students and that they would catch up.I'm happy to say that our child's experience at Atkinson has been transformational and dramatic. They are excited at their own progress and have really blossomed.Either way our experience at Atkinson has been hugely positive The staff is caring and responsive and they truly care about the student's well being.

I'm the parent of NAHS students who went to Atkinson. They are currently at the top of their respective classes and have gotten several merit scholarships at renowned colleges. I have seen other former Atkinson students excel in robotics, sports, music, Model UN and the debate and math teams. The backbone of their education came from elementary school - honestly though, North Andover has pretty good schools overall. Parents and students do have to take responsibility to put some effort into the education process, doing homework, checking homework, follow up with teachers if they see something of concern, spend some time in the classroom volunteering and ALWAYS know there are 2 sides to the story your kid brings home, even through high school. Following up with respectful email to a teacher has done a lot to clear up any issues we have had even if the outcome isn't what we expected.

The quality of education at this school is questionable. I have 2 children in this school (currently first and fifth grade) whom bring home class work that despite having errors is graded incorrectly as 100% or similar; the biggest offense being spelling errors that the teacher checked off as correct. MCAS scores have been declining which reflects poorly on the teachers, yet the Fifth grade class was recently berated as a whole for not trying hard enough and not retaining the information taught. In my opinion, it's more likely the fault of several educators and placing the blame on the children is absurd and uncalled for.

The school does have wonderful values, the principal does know everyone by name and there is a general sense of friendship and community from our Atkinson family. More parent involvement would be awesome, as it's always the same parents involved, but we do it together and we do it well. Great school, great teachers and all inclusive community.

First of all: the school is free of bullying. Atkinson is home of the RAISE! The kids, the staff and the parents are very proud of that! The principal knows every student by name and is a very nice men. My son loves the school!
