I wish our experience had been better. After being on the wait list for a year and a half and persistence on my part, we got a precious spot at this school. However, if your child is experiencing any difficulties re: speech or developmental delay and all of the aspects that come with that, steer clear. The teachers are a joy and are so good at what they do but the director is unwilling to work with non-perfect children and it got to the point where I was nervous to drop my child off every day. My child is in a different school now and thriving.

My son attended First Presbyterian for 3 years. We loved it. He loved going to school and feel he is completely ready to start kindergarten. All the teachers are very caring and truly care about each student.

Everything that glitters is not gold is how I would describe my experience. We were treated with disrespect and instead of issues being addressed we were asked to leave. The staff, director in particular was very uncaring and showed a lack of passion and lack of compassion for children. They are worried about their bottom line rather than teaching values and skills for academic success. I would not recommend this school.

Lucy Gates was a wonderful director and many of the teachers were great. Unfortunately the new director is terrible -very insincere and disingenuous. I know many parents who have teachers/teacher assistants be very rude to them recently and feel that this must result from poor top down teacher/teacher assistant training on how to appropriately interact with parents. I do not recommend this school especially with so many lovely preschool choices close by.

I wish I could give this school five stars but we haven't had the greatest experience so far. We had 3 different people recommend this school. We were put on the 2yr old waiting list back in Feb/Mar for fall of 2012. June is now here and we haven't heard anything. When I called the school they had are information incorrect (phone #/days attending). When I asked when we would know when our son would be attending the 2012 school year. She was unsure. I gave her my contact information and asked if her director could call me back. A few days later I called again and no one answered the phone. I never received a phone call.

This school has been a wonderful fit for us. My 3 year old attended 3 days a week and attended summer camp too. He often stayed after for lunch and after care and was disappointed when he had to come home. This is the only school I know of that provides hourly after care that you can use but are not obligated to a commitment. So helpful for unpredictable schedules. Staff is great with separation anxiety, providing hugs and holding when necessary. I loved the religious component which was interwoven throughout but not overbearing. Great playgrounds and great mix of free-play with instructional/one-on-one time. Building is ultra-secure. New director seems very good and teachers we had were excellent. Parents involved but not close-knit. We will greatly miss First Pres when we leave.

I am a retired secondary teacher. I am pleased wthi the academic program that this school promotes. It is a pleasure bringing my second grandson to this school. I find the teachers to be excellent and definitely patient. My three year old grandson loves this school. His brother is currently in the first grade at W.H. Taylor Elementary School and is an outstanding student. I highly recommend this school.
