My son attended Kindergarten at Bay View and we have nothing but good things to say about our experience! His teacher was amazing and worked with him all year. We saw some major behavior improvements and he learned so mcuh!

My child completed first grade and is going to the second grade this year and he has had a great experience so far ! If there are any problems or concerns the principle and teacher were very quick to respond. I was always kept in the loop. My son was excited about going to Mrs. Marshall's first grade class. I just can't say enough great things about this school.

Two of my children attended this school and they both loved it! Fourth grade sends weekly emails and weekly homework menus in the students planers. Teachers and staff are always smiling and pleasant when I pop in. One of my children has a disability and the school worked with us until he was on honor roll! The entire 4th grade team is excellent and my son genuinely enjoyed getting to learn from them. Ms. Addison is a dream! She's always keeping parents up to date with a convenient and secure app. I get to see how much fun her class has and I can show off to my co-workers when I get updates. She is every fabulous little girls perfect role model: smart, fun, kind, and fashion savvy. My daughter just loves her. Although this was the vice principal's last year, she was amazing. She greeted all the children by their first names every morning. The focus on reading is awesome and the librarian is beloved by my children. All the children seem to get along well together. Everyone here genuinely cares about the students. Any child that gets to attend this school is lucky.

My child who has disabilities went to this school before I pulled her out. She was bullied, abused and singled out by her teachers. Yes her TEACHERS!!! This school used to be the best school in the area but now has gone down very quickly and they don’t care at all.

My child has attended Bayview for the last three years and is on her fourth year. She has always had great teachers with Ms. A. Allen running away with the best teacher award. She is a GREAT communicator, considerate, assertive, enthusiastic and makes learning fun! Although she has only been teaching a few years, she is a natural and the one teacher my child will ALWAYS remember. Hats off to Bayview, especially Ms. Allen!

All I can say is how thrilled that my child will not be attending this school next year.

I attended this school from 2002-2007 from k-5. It was an outstanding school with great teachers, administration, and a great counselor. I would definitely recommend this school to others and hopefully my kids will attend this school as well in the near future.

This is a great school with a great principal who has incredible experience and handles situations with such poise and professionalism. She is so well-liked that I hear about students stopping by the office to see her and the office staff just to say hello. We are very pleased and being new to the school systems and all that goes along with that, this school has made it a great adjustment for my child.

Bayview Elementary....I had the same experience regarding award ceremonies. I wasn't able to attend because the teacher did not communicate them until the night before and we weren't told by the school in a timely manner. I am hoping this is better this year as we love everything else about the school. If not we are going to look into a private school.

Bayview Elementaray....I too hope that there is better communication this year. This is not a strong suit of this school. Award ceremonies are planned weeks in advance.....the parents should know the date weeks in advance also to make arrangements to attend. These are very important events in the eyes of the child. On another note the PTA is wonderful and the events they and the school coordinate such as dances, etc. are wonderful and very well organized.

I am the assistant principal at this school. Our school has a family atmosphere and we believe in providing an academically rigorous education. I am sorry that a parent felt we did not promptly return a phone call. If anyone has a question, comment or concern, the princial and I are ALWAYS available. Please contact the administration if you ever feel that your concerns are being neglected. Our phone number is 757-531-3030.

My daughter has attended school at Bay View Elementary as a first grader this year. Her teacher has been wonderful but the school has not impressed me one bit. The school is irresponsible about communicating events and what is going on with your child unless it is PTA fundraising related. I've called and left a gentle message twice asking why I'm not given more than a two day notice to attend my daughter's award ceremony so that I can take off from work. I have not even received a call back to explain, let alone to help me find a solution so I can be there to support my daughter without getting in trouble with my job. I do, however, receive many phone calls to remind me of when the fundraisers are due weeks in advance and periodically in between. The playground is disgraceful, my daughter gets to play outside on average 3 times total per week yet is constantly preparing for SOL testing she will be taking next year, and they will be taking their first and only field trip on the second to last week of school. I know that little kids need to be outside and parents should be able to be there to support their children's achievements and so far Bay View has been neglectful of both.

My son and I both LOVE Bay View and the staff. Any time I had a concern, it was answered promptly and handled if necessary. We are really going to miss Bay View when we move!
