The culture at Wesleyan has gone downhill fast. Turnover in teachers, administration that cares more about money and fundraising than giving students a top notch education. My three children have gone since kindergarten and now they all want to leave because of the inept teachers, cliques and bullying. The graduating class parents are frustrated because the last two classes are barely getting into mediocre colleges and are coming out unprepared. They have the way less AP courses than all the private schools or public schools. If you value education please look at higher ranked schools in the area that have better resources, accommodations, and desire to get your child into a good college. Wesleyan has a beautiful campus and I’ve donated more money than I wish to say through the last 12 years and regret it. It’s all smoke and mirrors when you see the buildings and hear their spill. It is unfortunate but there is a mass exodus of students leaving and for good reason. I never thought it would happen to us. For what you spend you can find much much better and it took touring other private schools to realize this.

I have had an AMAZING time here. I am in 7th grade and been here since kindergarten. The grade chairs work hard to help us succeed. If the school or your parents think that the student needs a little help, they have a program that helps them with studying and ways to help learning. Also, before or after school you can come in if you need help on anything. The teachers are all SOOOO nice. All the bullying that the other reviews say is just middle schoolers being middle schoolers. Overall, I LOVE MY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone at the school really seems to really care about the students education AND life skills AFTER school. They're into shaping & molding young kids into respectable, responsible & character strong young people.

This is our 7th school year at Wesleyan School and while no school is the perfect fit for everyone, we have been very pleased with our family's experience. The teachers go above and beyond to support the students in and out of the classroom. The school has been on top of social and academic challenges and helped them reach their very high academic standards while keeping the Christian mission first. The community is welcoming and inclusive. They look for the good and find the strengths of each student to help them succeeed. It is small enough for them to know each student well, but big enough to offer a wide range of classes and extra curricular activities.

Attended summer academic camp where middle school students allowed to use profanity and bully other students without consequences or repercussions.

This school is just too much for any kid. The teachers and students have no respect for each other. Everyday, even if it’s not you specifically, you will see a teacher(s) picking on students for even the slightest mistake and making you feel awful. Teachers do nothing and just watch everything that happens in this school. Wesleyan puts too much stress on people and is not a good place for young teens. The teachers never give us time to work in class. The campus and sports facilities are nice and all, but it’s not worth the money to come here.

I have personally had a very hard time at Wesleyan and am leaving. The bullying is bad and the teachers are not good. I have not had a good experience at all. Don't give you any sympathy.

That's all I needed to hear - we marked Wesleyan off of our consideration list.

Not good at all! The school and it’s faculty and community care about looking rich but most can barely afford a luxury lifestyle in which they perceive. We send our students to high end institutes for a good education, not so we can brag about the name! Shame on many of the parents!

Wesleyan School - an institution steeped in a rich tradition of diversity. You will find diversity throughout campus in the cross walks directing traffic, serving food in the cafeteria, and mowing the lawns of this immaculate campus for the campus masters.

The other negative reviews are spot on. Materialistic culture, bullying, and unqualified teachers. Take a close look at college placements.

Fantastic experience, with headmaster, principals, teachers and staff all exceeding our expectations. Consistent values applied on a daily basis. The leadership and staff are totally switched on.

My three sons attended Wesleyan. It is a challenging, highly principled and effective school. All three were more prepared for college than others. The athletics are inclusive and teach the lessons that good sports programs do such as grit, team work and self discipline. While it is not the school for every child, it is great for those who want to put in the work and reach out to others. Like most places, you find what you look for. For those with learning difficulties another school may be better. My youngest son attended for 13 years and had the best education of the three by far. When the public school teacher started telling me that in 3rd grade my oldest son would just "absorb the times table", I began to research for a consistent and rational school. We found it at Wesleyan!

I can't imagine having had a better lower school experience for my children. Every child is known and valued at Wesleyan, and they are pushed outside their comfort zones in a gentle way, ultimately encouraging them to become the best they can be in all areas - whether traditional academics, the arts, athletics or simple social skills. It is a strong school academically, but more than that, it is a family. The teachers truly care about their students academically, emotionally and spiritually. The facilities are beautiful, but it's the nurturing environment that makes it worth every penny!

I pulled my children out of this school due to the very pretentious parents and poor education. They seem to lure you in with a campus that is very nice, but behind the scenes it is a terrible educational institution. Parents send their kids here so they can "brag" that they pay for an overpriced fee to send their kid to school. It is funny because these parents are living up check to pay check to appear as if they can really afford that Range Rover or Escalade. My children are much happier at our top ranked public schools and the education is much better as well.

Great Lower School, Small classes, friendly teachers and headmaster knows me and my family by name. My son attended good Public school (simpson elementary) year before and was a terrible experience, our first year in usa school come from uk. Huge class size one teache who was useless. This school has warm classrooms, small class sizes so any struggling student wont just be left. Kids are respectful and parents very kind. Its a great sociable school so lots of family events to get to know everyone. So worth the money!

This school is exactly what you would think it would be....full of fake people. I was surprised at how little the parents cared about their child's education. The parents are more concerned with appearance and what car they drive. Some of the kids are very snotty and rude to others. Bullying is a major issue here both in school and among the football players. I pulled my child pretty quickly as I was not impressed. Don't be fooled, there are drugs at this school and it is due to parents more worried about traveling than taking care of their kids. Avoid this place.

I wish every child could experience the level of encouragement and support the children at Wesleyan receive. It is truly a learning environment that encourages young students. It can seem intimidating at first but you will find the people (parents, faculty, administration) there are the nicest, most straight forward folks you will meet.

This school is all about appearance. There are great families and some great kids at this school, but faculty is hit or miss, and faculty kids get obvious and nonrefutable preferential treatment, as the people making decisions are their parents' friends. They also hire a lot of kids right out of college, and no one paying this kind of money wants a brand new teacher faking their way through their first few years. The headmaster is so removed. The wonderful retired headmaster knew every child. Really! The new one knows the kids who matter. And he makes decisions without feeling the need to explain to the customer, i.e. tha parents and families, why the decision was made. This school has been a mistake for our family, and most graduations families are not happy they stayed.
